Abstract

Kebutuhan air tawar pada kapal merupakan kebutuhan pokok karena diperlukan dalam berbagai aktivitas manusia di dalam kapal seperti cuci, mandi, minum, memasak serta sebagai media pendingin mesin diesel kapal. Hingga saat ini, air tawar pada kapal penumpang KM. Nggapulu diperoleh dengan cara membeli pada saat di pelabuhan. Perancangan sistem distilasi air laut dengan memanfaatkan panas gas buang mesin diesel pada kapal penumpang KM. Nggapulu bertujuan untuk memanfaatkan kembali panas gas buang dari diesel engine sebagai sumber panas pada proses pengupan sistem distalasi untuk memproduksi air tawar. Sistem distilasi air laut ini membutuhkan biaya investasi sebesar Rp 2.853.736.737 dan biaya operasional Rp 32.703.621 selama setahun. Berdasarkan hasil analisis kelayakan ekonomi perancangan sistem distilasi air laut dengan metode Net Present Value (NPV) menghasilkan nilai Rp 2,49 Milyar, dengan Internal Rate of Return (IRR) menghasilkan nilai 19%, dengan metode Benefit Cost Ratio (BCR) menghasilkan nilai 2,49, serta pada metode Payback Period menyimpulkan bahwa waktu yang dibutuhkan untuk mengembalikan modal adalah selama 6 tahun 6 bulan. Dari hasil keempat metode analisis kelayakan ekonomi, secara umum perancangan sistem distilasi air laut dengan memanfaatkan panas gas buang mesin diesel pada kapal penumpang KM. Nggapulu layak untuk dilanjutkan karena telah memenuhi kriteria kelayakan investasi. Berdasarkan cashflow selama 16 tahun, pengoperasian sistem distilasi air laut ini mampu melakukan penghematan biaya pembeliaan air tawar hingga Rp 12,1 Milyar. ========================================================= Freshwater on ships is a basic need because it is needed in various human activities on board such as washing, bathing, drinking, cooking as well as for cooling water system of the diesel engine. Until nowadays, freshwater on the passenger ship KM. Nggapulu is obtained by buying at the port. Design of seawater distillation system by utilizing diesel engine exhaust gas on passenger ship KM. Nggapulu intends to the recover heat from exhaust gas as a heat source for the evaporating process to produce fresh water. This seawater distillation system needs an investment cost of Rp 2.853.736.737 and an annual operational cost of Rp 32.703.621. Based on the result of the economic feasibility analysis of the design of the seawater distillation system by utilizing diesel engine exhaust gas on passenger ship KM. Nggapulu with Net Present Value (NPV) method generates a value of Rp 2.49 Billion, with Internal Rate of Return (IRR) method generate a value of 19%, with Benefit Cost Ratio (BCR) method generate a value of 2.49, and with Payback Period method conclude that time needed to pay back the investment cost is 6 years and 6 months. From the results of all four economic feasibility methods, generally design of seawater distillation system by utilizing diesel engine exhaust gas on passenger ship KM. Nggapulu is feasible to continue because it has completed the minimum criteria of investment feasibility. Based on 16 years of cash flow, operating of seawater distillation system could save the cost of purchase of freshwater up to Rp 12.1 Billion.
