Abstract

Tuna grahita ringan adalah istilah untuk anak yang memiliki kondisi kecerdasan dibawah rata-rata atau anak dengan IQ antara 50-70. Pendidikan anak tuna grahita di Indonesia diatur dalam Undang Undang Republik Indonesia nomor 20 tahun 2003 pasal 5 ayat 2 dimana, warga negara yang memiliki kelainan fisik, emosional, mental, intelektual, dan atau sosial berhak memperoleh pendidikan khusus atau lebih umum disebut pendidikan luar biasa. SLB tipe C adalah sekolah yang ditujukan untuk tuna grahita ringan atau individu dengan intelegensi yang dibawah rata-rata serta tidak memiliki kemampuan adaptasi. SLB-C Alpa Kumara Wardhana II merupakan SLB-C tertua di Surabaya yang saat ini memiliki 100 siswa. Tujuan dan visi sekolah adalah mendidik siswa agar lebih mandiri, kreatif, dan dapat beradaptasi di masyarakat. Didirikan sejak tahun 1964, kondisi bangunan sekolah masih sama saat pertama kali didirikan. Berdasarkan data dan pengamatan lapangan, terdapat beberapa hal yang menjadi permasalahan kegiatan belajar mengajar. Diantaranya, kondisi bangunan yang kurang optimal serta penyediaan fasilitas dan sarana belajar anak tuna grahita ringan. Dengan menerapkan konsep warmth pada SLB-C Alpa Kumara Wardhana II, diharapkan dapat menjawab permasalahan yang ada. Sekolah yang baik dapat menciptakan suasana belajar yang menyenangkan dengan fasilitas sesuai karakteristik dan perilaku penggunanya. Re-desain sekolah ini mengutamakan karakteristik dan perilaku pengguna sekolah dalam hal ini anak tuna grahita ringan. Perancangan akan memperhatikan pengaruh konsep warmth pada desain interior dan keterlibatannya dalam mendukung perkembangan anak tuna grahita ringan. Melalui konsep ini, anak tuna grahita ringan akan distimulasi melalui elemen-elemen estetis yang dihadirkan juga suasana belajar yang hangat dan menyenangkan melalui interior. Suasana dan stimulasi yang diciptakan ini diharapkan dapat membantu siswa lebih mandiri, kreatif dan mudah beradaptasi di lingkungannya. ====================================================================================================== Mild mental retardation is a term for children who have intelligence below average or children with an IQ between 50-70. The education of mentally retarded children in Indonesia is regulated in Law of the Republic of Indonesia number 20 of 2003 article 5 paragraph 2, wherein citizens who have physical, emotional, mental, intellectual and / or social disabilities have the right to special education or more generally called Pendidikan luar biasa. Sekolah Luar Biasa type C is a school that is intended for mild mentally retarded or individuals with below average intelligence and lack of adaptability. SLB-C Alpa Kumara Wardhana II is the oldest SLB-C in Surabaya which currently has 100 students. The aim and vision of the school is to educate students to be more independent, creative, and adaptable in society. Established since 1964, the condition of the school building is still the same as original. Based on data and field observations, there are several things that become problems in teaching and learning activities. Among them, the condition of the building is less than optimal and the provision of facilities and learning facilities for mild mentally retarded children. By applying the warmth concept to SLB-C Alpa Kumara Wardhana II, it is hoped that it can answer the problems. Good school can create a pleasant learning atmosphere with facilities according to the characteristics and behavior of its users. This school re-design prioritizes the characteristics and behavior of school users, in this case mild mentally disabled children. The design will pay attention to the influence of the warmth concept on interior design and its involvement in supporting the development of children with mild mental retarded. Through this concept, children with mild mental retarded will be stimulated through aesthetic elements that are presented as well as a warm and pleasant learning atmosphere through the interior. The atmosphere and stimulation created is expected to help students be more independent, creative and adaptable to their environment.
