Abstract
Sekolah menengah pertama merupakan suatu tingkatan media pembelajaran yang wajib ditempuh oleh anak Indonesia sebagai tempat pembelajaran dan pendidikan anak menuju usia remaja yang baik. Pendidikan saat ini tidak hanya mengenai pendidikan akademik, namun juga pendidikan karakter dan agama anak. Oleh sebab itu, sarana pendidikan akademik yang memiliki basis pendidikan agama juga sangat penting. Salah satu sarana pendidikan berbasis agama adalah SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Sidoarjo. Dalam pengoperasiannya ditemukan permasalahan antara lain fungsi ruang serta penataan furnitur di SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Sidoarjo yang belum, serta kurangnya mengangkat isu kemuhammadiyahan serta visi dan misi dalam konsep desain interior sekolah.
Tugas akhir dengan judul “Redesain SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Sidoarjo dengan Nuansa Modern yang Menjunjung Unsur Kemuhammadiyahan” merubah beberapa konsep ruangan yang penting sesuai dengan kebutuhan sekolah yang optimal. Konsep modern ditunjukkan dengan penggunaan material alam, serta bentuk furnitur geometris. Untuk memunculkan unsur Muhammadiyah, diaplikasikan dalam berbagai unsur interior baik dari segi warna maupun transformasi bentuk. Contoh pengaplikasian dari keduanya adalah adanya wall of fame di beberapa titik strategis di sekolah sehingga memacu semangat peserta didik untuk belajar. Warna dindng yang netral, serta penggabungan beberapa material. Selain itu beberapa transformasi bentuk dari logo Muhammadiyah menjadi elemen estetis seperti sekat ruang.

Junior high school is a level of learning media that must be taken by Indonesian children as a place for learning and educating children towards good adolescence. Current education is not only about academic education, but also character education and children's religion. Therefore, academic education facilities based on religious education are also very important. One of the religion-based educational facilities is SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Sidoarjo. In its operation, problems were found, including the function of space and the arrangement of furniture at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Sidoarjo which has not been, and the lack of raising issues of Muhammadiyah and vision and mission in the concept of school interior design.
The final project entitled "Redesign of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Sidoarjo with Modern Nuances that Upholds Muhammadiyah Elements" changes several important room concepts according to optimal school needs. The modern concept is shown by the use of natural materials and geometric furniture. To bring up Muhammadiyah elements, it is applied in various interior elements both in terms of color and shape transformation. An example of the application of both is the existence of a wall of fame at several strategic points in schools so as to stimulate the enthusiasm of students to learn. Neutral wall colors, as well as the incorporation of several materials. In addition, several transformations of the shape of the Muhammadiyah logo into aesthetic elements such as space dividers.
