Abstract

==============================================================================================
Subsea Pipeline system has one problem that is very much avoided, which is free span. Free span can be very vulnerable, even one of the causes of structural damage to the pipeline system itself. This failure can be caused by vortex induced vibration (VIV). VIV itself is caused by environmental loads, mainly waves and currents. In this final project, analysis of pipelines that experience free span starts from lateral stability and vertical stability of the pipeline itself which refers to DNV RP F 109, screening criteria for VIV and screening criteria for ultimate limit state, up to the combined stress analysis on the pipeline which experience free span. In this final project, apart from analyzing the stability of the free span, it is also expected to obtain appropriate results regarding dynamic analysis and ultimate limit state. Based on these calculations, it is hoped that this final project will get the final results of stresses, such as hoop stresses, longitudinal stresses, and combined stresses. The results of these stresses must be in accordance with the ASME B 31.8 standard. As for the references besides DNV RP F 109 and ASME B31.8, namely DNV OS F 101 and also DNV RP F 105 in conducting the analysis of this final project.
