Abstract

Industri plastik, terutama polypropylene merupakan salah satu yang perkembangannya cukup pesat dan memiliki prospek masa depan yang baik. Hal ini disebabkan plastik memiliki fungsi yang luas mulai dari kebutuhan rumah tangga hingga kebutuhan industri manufaktur. Polypropylene terdiri dari berbagai jenis, yaitu homopolymer, random copolymer dan impact copolymer. Homopolymer terbentuk oleh satu jenis polymer yaitu propylene tanpa ada bahan lain yang ditambahkan. Polypropylene homopolymer dihasilkan melalui reaksi polimerisasi monomer propylene. Untuk mencapai produksi polypropylene sebesar 190 KTPA, pabrik ini direncanakan berlokasi di Indramayu, mendekati pusat sumber produksi propylene dari PT. Pertamina RU VI untuk menutupi 200 KTPA propylene yang dibutuhkan oleh pabrik dengan kemurnian 99.6%. %. Proses pertama adalah menghilangkan Sulfur, MAP dan Air. Kemudian bahan baku diumpankan ke dalam reaktor dengan kondisi operasi tekanan 35 bar dan suhu 65oC. Produk dari reaktor berupa resin dan gas yang kemudian dipisahkan pada sistem degassing. Resin diproses menjadi bentuk pelet sementara gas di recovery kembali ke dalam reaktor. Pendirian pabrik polypropylene ini membutuhkan biaya investasi modal tetap (fix capital) sebesar Rp 618.517.013.120 , modal kerja (working capital) sebesar Rp 68.730.112.569, investasi total (total capital) Rp 687.301.125.689, dengan rincian bahan baku pertahun sebesar Rp 3.286.642.848.454, dan total penjualan pertahun sebesar Rp 4.549.512.000.000. Dari analisa ekonomi didapatkan internal rate of return (IRR) sebesar 63,2%, pay out time (POT) selama 3,05 tahun, dan break even point sebesar 23%. Ditinjau dari aspek teknis dan ekonomi pabrik polypropylene homopolymer ini layak untuk didirikan.

The plastic industry, especially polypropylene, is one that is developing rapidly and has good future prospects. This is because plastic has a wide range of functions, from household needs to the needs of the manufacturing industry. Propylene consists of various types, namely homopolymers, random copolymers and impact copolymers. Homopolymer is formed by one type of monomer propylene without any other monomer added. Polypropylene homopolymer is produced by polymerization reaction of propylene monomer. To achieve a polypropylene production of 190 KTPA, the plant is planned to be located in Indramayu, close to the propylene production source from PT Pertamina RU VI to cover the 200 KTPA propylene required by the plant with a purity of 99.6%. The process begins with removing sulfur, MAP and water from the raw materials and then the stream is fed into the reactor under operating conditions of 35 bar pressure and 65oC temperature. The product from the reactor in the form of resin and gas is then separated in a degassing system. The resin is processed into pellets while the gas is recovered back into the reactor. The establishment of this polypropylene plant requires fixed capital investment costs of IDR 618,517,012,120, working capital of IDR 68,730,112,569, total investment of IDR 687,301,125,689, with annual raw material requirements of IDR 3,286. .642,848,454, and total annual sales of IDR 4,549,512,000,000. From the economic analysis, it was found that the internal rate of return (IRR) was 63.2%, the payout time (POT) was 3.05 years and the break even point was 23%. In terms of technical and economic aspects, the polypropylene homopolymer plant is feasible to establish.
