Abstract

Di dalam industri pengolahan minyak sawit, salah satu proses utama yang terjadi adalah proses bleaching atau pemucatan. Proses ini menghasilkan sejumlah bleaching earth bekas (spent bleaching earth). Spent bleaching earth (SBE) merupakan hasil sampingan proses pemucatan minyak sawit yang masih mengandung 20-30% b/b minyak sawit. Jumlah spent bleaching earth yang dihasilkan oleh industri pengolahan minyak sawit di Indonesia mencapai 750.000 ton/tahun. Dalam Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 101 Tahun 2014, SBE masuk dalam kategori limbah B3 dengan kode limbah B 413. Dikarenakan limbah SBE masuk dalam kategori limbah B3, maka perusahaan - perusahaan tersebut harus melakukan Perlindungan dan Pengelolaan Lingkungan Hidup (PPLH). Fasilitas pemanfaatan limbah yang akan dibangun diharapkan menangkap pasar jasa pemusnahan limbah SBE, sebagai pengganti bahan baku semen, dan sebagai bahan bakar alternatif (batubara). Dari perspektif pasar, fasilitas ini akan menangkap sekitar 7% pangsa pasar jasa pemusnahan limbah SBE. Berdasarkan analisa aspek teknis batas feeding rate adalah 8 ton per jam. Berdasarkan perhitungan Payback Period, diperlukan waktu 4,2 tahun untuk mengembalikan biaya modal investasi. Dari perhitungan Net Present Value dan Internal Rate of Return, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengembangan fasilitas pemanfaatan limbah SBE layak dilakukan. Berdasarkan analisa sensitivitas, fasilitas harus berjalan di atas kapasitas 60% untuk memastikan fasilitas masih layak. Penelitian lebih lanjut diharapkan untuk menganalisis potensi limbah B3 lain yang dapat dikelola oleh fasilitas dan potensi untuk memasuki bisnis pengelolaan limbah ujung ke ujung sehingga dapat memiliki dampak yang lebih besar bagi perusahaan dan masyarakat ======================================================================================================== In the palm oil industry, one of the main process that occurs is the bleaching process. This process produces a number of spent bleaching earth. Spent bleaching earth (SBE) is a by-product of palm oil bleaching process which still contains 20- 30% weight of palm oil.. The amount of spent bleaching produced by the palm oil industry in Indonesia reaches 750,000 tons/year. Government regulation number 101 2014 categorized spent bleaching earth as hazardous waste with a code B 413. Therefore, the companies must carry out environmental protection and management for spent bleaching earth. This facility built to capture the market of spent bleaching earth waste disposal service, raw material substitution, and alternative fuel (coal). From the market perspective, the facility will capture about 7% market shares. Based on the technical aspect, the calcination process, kiln operational, and quality of clinker won’t be disrupted if the capacity of waste facilities is 8 tons per hour. Based on the Payback Period calculation, it needs 4,2 years to return the investment. From the Net Present Value and Internal Rate of Return, it can be concluded that the development of waste utilization facility for spent bleaching is feasible. Based on sensitivity analysis the facilities must run above 60% capacity to make sure the facilities still feasible. Further research is expected to analyze the potential for other B3 waste which can managed by the facility and potential to enter end to end waste management business so it can have a greater impact to the company and society
