Abstract
Menipisnya cadangan minyak bumi di dunia satunya dipicu dari ketergantungan pada konsumsi bahan bakar fosil. Hal ini juga didorong oleh kebutuhan energi minyak dibidang transportasi maupun sector industri lainnya. Oleh karena itu,dibutuhkan bahan bakar alternatif yang dapat diperbarui serta mudah didapatkan, salah satunya adalah biodiesel dari minyak goreng bekas karena minyak goreng bekas memiliki potensi yang besar di Indonesia. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh biodiesel minyak goreng bekas terhadap proses pembakaran dan emisi NOx menggunakan bahan bakar HSD dan biodiesel minyak goreng bekas B50,B60,B70,B80,B90,B100. Metode yang digunakan didalam penelitian ini yaitu dengan menggunakan metode simulasi.
Pada penggunaan bahan bakar campuran 50% biodiesel minyak goreng bekas (B50) dengan dibandingkan dengan bahan bakar HSD. Hasil proses pembakaran nilai peak pressure, peak ROHR, peak heat release, dan temperature maximum secara berturut-turut mengalami penurunan sebesar 3,8%, 3,4%, 7,5%, 2,8% pada kondisi beban penuh. Sedangkan pada analisis emisi NOx dengan penggunaan bahan bakar B50 dibandingkan dengan HSD emisi NOx mengalami penurunan sebesar 27% pada kondisi beban penuh dan akan terus mengalami penurunan pada setiap kenaikan beban.

Depletion of petroleum reserves in the world is triggered from dependence on fossil fuel consumption. This is also driven by the need for oil energy in the transportation sector and other industrial sectors. Therefore, alternative fuels that are renewable and easy to obtain are needed, one of which is biodiesel from waste cooking oil because waste cooking oil has great potential in Indonesia. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of waste cooking oil biodiesel on the combustion process and NOx emissions using HSD fuel and biodiesel used cooking oil B50, B60, B70, B80, B90, B100. The method used in this research is to use a simulation method.
In the use of a mixture of 50% biodiesel used cooking oil (B50) compared with HSD fuel. The results of the combustion process peak pressure, peak ROHR, peak heat release, and maximum temperature respectively decreased by 3.8%, 3.4%, 7.5%, 2.8% at full load conditions. Whereas in the analysis of NOx emissions with the use of B50 fuel compared with HSD NOx emissions decreased by 27% at full load and will continue to decrease with every increase in load.
