Abstract

Melihat tingginya tingkat produksi dan penjualan mobil di Indonesia, seharusnya pihak produsen mengimbanginya dengan upaya memberikan informasi detail mengenai mobil kepada konsumen, agar konsumen juga tercerdaskan, seperti yang sudah dilakukan di beberapa negara maju. Realitas yang terjadi di pasaran Indonesia, informasi yang diberikan oleh pihak produsen mengenai detail spesifikasi mobil, bahkan untuk tingkat SUV yang merupakan mobil kelas premium pun masih sangatlah terbatas. Kebanyakan brosur hanya menampilkan upgrade teknologi dan fitur tambahan terbaru yang mereka miliki. Jika hal ini terus berlanjut, maka selamanya masyarakat Indonesia hanya akan menjadi konsumen tanpa ada peningkatan pengetahuan mendetail mengenai karakteristik atau performa mesin mobil yang mereka beli. Hal tersebut yang mendasari penulis untuk melakukan analisa perbandingan karakteristik traksi dan karakteristik tenaga dari tiga jenis mobil SUV.
Dalam penelitian ini, penulis melakukan tiga tahap analisa. Tahap pertama, penulis akan melakukan analisa perhitungan gaya hambat dan gaya dorong kendaraan sehingga akan didapatkan karakteristik traksi ketiga kendaraan. Kemudian pada tahap kedua, penulis akan melakukan analisa perhitungan kecepatan kendaraan dan daya aktual kendaraan, sehingga didapatkan karakteristik tenaga kendaraan. Tahap terakhir, penulis akan melakukan evaluasi grafik karakteristik traksi dan tenaga ketiga kendaraan, kemudian membandinkannya.
Dari penelitian ini diperoleh grafik karakteristik traksi dan tenaga ketiga kendaraan. Setelah dilakukan analisa didapatkan Toyota Rush mampu menanjak dengan gradeability 40% dan menempuh kecepatan maksimum sebesar 130,98 km/jam, Mitsubishi Xpander mampu menanjak dengan gradeability 40% dan menempuh kecepatan maksimum sebesar 166,28 km/jam, Daihatsu Terios mampu menanjak dengan gradeability 50% dan menempuh kecepatan maksimum sebesar 141,58 km/jam. Dilihat dari grafik yang diperoleh perlu adanya peningkatan gaya dorong terutama pada tiga tingkat transmisi awal. Diperlukanya peningkatan gaya dorong tersebut agar memungkinkan kendaraan untuk melalui jalan tanjak dengan gradeability yang lebih besar dan mengurangi losses yang terjadi

Seeing the high level of car production and sales in Indonesia, producers should compensate by providing detailed information about cars to consumers, so that consumers are also smarter, as has been done in several developed countries. The reality that occurs in the Indonesian market, the information provided by the manufacturer regarding the detailed specifications of the car, even for the SUV level which is a premium class car, is still very limited. Most brochures only show the latest technology upgrades and enhancements they have available. If this continues, Indonesians will forever become consumers without increasing detailed knowledge about the characteristics or performance of the car engine they buy. This underlies the author to analyze the comparison of the traction characteristics and power characteristics of the three types of SUVs.
In this study, the authors conducted three stages of analysis. In the first stage, the author will analyze the calculation of the drag and thrust of the vehicle so that the traction characteristics of the three vehicles will be obtained. Then in the second stage, the author will analyze the calculation of vehicle speed and actual vehicle power, so that the characteristics of the vehicle power are obtained. In the last stage, the writer will evaluate the traction and power characteristics of the three vehicles, then compare them.
From this research, a graph of the traction and power characteristics of the three vehicles is obtained. After analysis, it was found that the Toyota Rush was able to climb with 40% gradeability and traveled a maximum speed of 130.98 km/hour, the Mitsubishi Xpander was able to climb with 40% gradeability and traveled a maximum speed of 166.28 km/hour, Daihatsu Terios was able to climb with gradeability 50% and travels a maximum speed of 141.58 km/hour. Judging from the graph, it is necessary to increase the thrust, especially at the three levels of the initial transmission. It is necessary to increase the thrust to allow vehicles to pass uphill roads with greater gradeability and to reduce the losses that occur.
