Abstract

Water behavior in the Pacitan karst region forms the hydrogeological system in the Donorejo-Pringkukuku sub-system, which develops through fracture systems and subsurface channels that are controlled by faults. Resistivity 2D method is used to identify subsurface rivers and it’s direction based on the distribution of resistivity in the karst area of Ngrijang Sekar Village, Donorejo District, Pacitan Regency. Wenner-Schlumberger configuration is used because it has fine lateral and vertical mapping capabilities. The least square smoothness-constrain inversion method is used so as to produce a 2D cross section of the resistivity variation of a soil layer associated with subsurface geological structures. Data acquisition was carried out in six lanes with lengths of each of 185m, 185m, 145m, 130m, 145m and 130m. Alleged subsurface rivers in the study area were identified with resistivity values between 2.6-20 Ohm.m. With an indication of the relationship between subsurface rivers from Koboran water source to 1 water source and Kali Cilik water source to the Koboran water source with orientation Northeast-Southwest which is allegedly controlled by differences in elevation and Buyutan Fault which is the closest fault found in the eastern area of the study site.
