Abstract

========================================================================= Indonesia is the world's largest mineral resource producing country. However, tools for processing mineral resources with high temperature, durability, toughness, and good heat conducsers are still limited. The tool in question is still imported from abroad and derived from molybdenum material disilicide (MoSi2). Molybdenum disilicide (MoSi2) is an excellent material as a heating element because it can withstand up to temperature 1800oC-2030oC. Synthesis of MoSi2 material as an element of heating element using materials such as molybdenum, silica, and aluminium with different composition and different synthesis techniques on each research. Conducted testing to observe the properties of the resulting MoSi, SEM testing to observe the structure, morphology, and porosity of the MoSi2, as well as testing XRD to determine the crystal phase in the material, and carried out an electrical resistivity test of temperature in the MoSi2 which will be used as an element of heating elements. In some research problems that have been done, there are different results, because there are differences in the composition of materials and methods of synthesis used even if the desired purpose is the same.
