Abstract

Food demand in Indonesia, compared to other economic sectors in Indonesia, has a very low in economic growth and contrasts with the amount of employment in the food sector which is quite high. Therefore, the right investment is needed by the government to determine the economic policies so that the food sector can increase the production number dan reduce the poverty. Food sector supply chain in Indonesia were analyzed by the Structural Path Analysis method for each province based on each economic sector in IRIO tables in Indonesia. Food sector income could increase with the supply chains from the food, building, trande, petrochemical industry and livestrock sectors. Investment for the food sector in the pesimistic scenario can be done by increasing transactions for the rice sector, in moderate scenario and optimistic scenario it can be done by reducing investmen in the food sector.
