Abstract

In this day, where the need for electricity is increasing, and also followed by technological developments that are increasing as well, it requires a technological development in tne field of energy storage media. One of the energy storage media is supercapacitor. Supercapacitor performance that has advantages such as relatively fast charge-discharge cycles and long-life cycles is an advantage that makes supercapacitor suitable to fulfill needs in terms of energy storage media in the future. Before using a supercapacitor in an integrated system, a modeling of the supercapacitor is needed. Supercapacitor modeling is the main thing to do to know the characteristics and internal parameters of a supercapacitor we used. The internal parameters of the supercapacitor can be estimated online together with the supercapacitor testing process. One way to test supercapacitor is to use the method of High Pulse Power Characterization or HPPC. With the HPPC characterization method, the supercapacitor internal parameters can be identified and modeled into a simple RC circuit consisting of resistance and capacitance arranged in series. Based on this final project, it can be concluded that the large capacitance of a supercapacitor increases the accuracy of the estimated parameters of the supercapcitor. In addition, simple RC equivalent circuit modeling is more accurate to model 650 F and 2000 F supercapacitor than 100 F.
