Abstract
Pada transportasi umum di Indonesia masih banyak hal-hal kecil yang belum mendapatkan perhatian khususnya tentang fasilitas untuk penumpang anak-anak. Seperti contohnya pada beberapa kereta di negara maju terdapat area bermain yang dapat memfasilitasi anak-anak selama perjalanan. Sedangkan pada kereta api di kereta api di Indonesia belum ada sehingga selama perjalanan ank-anak akan merasa bosan dan anak-anak tidak menyukai kereta api.
Dengan adanya area bermain pada kereta semi cepat Indonesia dapat memberikan kenyamanan yang lebih bagi penumpang keluarga lebih tepatnya kepada penumpang anak-anak. Selain itu juga apabila area bermain dan area resto ditempat yang sama maka diprediksi para penumpang orang tua akan menunggu anak-anak mereka di area resto dan akan membeli makanan atau minuman di area resto sehingga dapat meningkatkan penjualan di resto.
Dalam proses pendesainan area bermain ini dilakukan beberapa analisis seperti seberapa luas area bermain, dimakah letak area bermain serta konsep apa yang paling menarik untuk dijadikan area bermain didalam kereta. Metode riset yang digunakan dalam mendesain area bermain antara lain: product planning, basic design, conceptual design, preliminary design, dan final design.
Dengan berfokus kepada pengalaman anak selama dikereta, didapatkan konsep permainan edukasi tentang cara menjadi penumpang kereta dan merasakan pengalaman menjadi masinis. Semua konsep tersebut diaplikasikan pada desain dan menghasilkan model 3D, animasi, model skala 1:10, jurnal dan draft HKI. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat diterapkan di Indonesia sehingga selain meningkatkan kenyamanan kepada penumpang segmen keluarga dan dapat memajukan industri perkeretaapian di Indonesia.

There is things that not getting attention at public transportation service in Indonesia. The Example is, there is a play zone on some of train in a developed country that facilitate kids on board. Meanwhile in Indonesia there is no facilitation for kids on train so children can be bored during the trip and kids will hate to take the train trip.
With the Play zone on board it can increase comfort for the family passenger especially the kids. Moreover if the play zone is located on the same train car with the restaurant its predicted that parents will wait for their children playing at the restaurant and they will order food or minimum some beverages so it can increase selling at the restaurant.
In the designing process several analysis is conducted, like the area of the play zone, where to locate the play zone, and what is the most interesting concept to applied for a play zone on a train. Research method that used for designing the play zone are : product planning , basic design, conceptual design, preliminary design, dan final design.
Focusing on experience on train, writer got a concept of a educational play about how to be a train passenger and feels the train conductor job and all the concept is applied in the design and is resulting 3D design, animation, 1: 10 model, journal and HKI file. This research hopefully can be applied in Indonesia so besides increasing comfort to family passenger hopefully it also could advance train industry in Indonesia.
