Abstract

The culture of sitting on the floor is very well known by people in Asia, including Indonesia even since ancient times, with a very diverse work and lifestyle. From the matter of sitting on the floor itself has a variety of poses, including the sila, simpuh, selonjor, ngeleseh, squat, deprok, and others, so that it is more active than normal sitting. Whereas in this practical era, human civilization spends their daily time sitting, starting from work, relaxing, driving, and so on. Though sitting for a long time can affect health. It was strongly influenced by the development of western-oriented seating facilities in a comfortable pose, quite different from eastern culture. The concept of working on the floor itself is actually widely applied to the coworking space in Asia, including Indonesia. From some of field observations (shadowing) that has done, it is known that the facilities to facilitate activities of working on the floor are still lacking, and most users have not gotten the best performance due to several problems in working on the floor, including compatibility of posture with the work area, often tired / saturated in a pose, and lack of freedom of movement / change of poses when working on the floor. Therefore, we need an innovation / development of facilities that can support activities on the floor with the hope that people will be more comfortable and more familiar with the culture of sitting on the floor that will provide benefits especially in terms of long-term health.
