Abstract
===========================================================
Indonesia has been named as the second largest contributor of plastic waste in the world with a total of 64 million tons per year, of which 3.2 million tons of waste is discharged into the sea. In the city of Surabaya alone, as much as 74% of inorganic waste produced is plastic waste. The high level of plastic pollution drives the emergence of plastic dietary trends that are in demand by teenagers. However, teenagers aged 17-25 years are the most plastic users in Indonesia. This shows that teenagers have not adopted a consistent plastic lifestyle. To convince teenagers to commit themselves to plastic dieting for the sake of nature conservation, a plastic diet campaign was designed to raise the issue of plastic pollution in the Indonesian sea.
The design of this campaign is done by various methods. Data about objects and research subjects obtained through literature studies and existing studies. In addition, qualitative and quantitative research was also carried out. Qualitative research took the form of interviews with the Cinta Laut Indonesia Foundation and the Surabaya Environmental Service, observation of user behavior, and focus group discussions with teenagers of disposable plastic users. While quantitative research is carried out by distributing questionnaires. All methods are then analyzed to find the main concept of "Untuk Laut".
The main message is conveyed with the communication style that has been determined through research. The main message will be presented in visual form through the Public Service Advertising (PSA) video media and social media as the main media and ambient media and merchandise as supporting media. It is hoped that the amphones are expected to awaken the late teenager to start a consistent plastic diet lifestyle.
