Abstract

Has been built a system for charging a battery with MPPT
algorithm. The MPPT algorithm using Peturbation and
Observation method programmed into the STM32 as a controller.
Synchronous Buck converter is used as an actuator to regulate the
output voltage of the solar panel. Synchronous Buck converter
chosen because it has a better conversion efficiency than the usual
buck converter. From the results obtained from the testing process,
MPPT with P & O method can improve the efficiency of the battery
charging process in PLTS Engineering Physics. However, there
are still shortcomings in efficiency of synchronous buck converter
which is still less than 90% which would reduce the efficiency of
energy that can be generated by solar panels.
