Abstract

Marine resources in Indonesia is very important, given the fact that Indonesia is an archipelago country. With large number of islands scattered throughout the region, then marine capabilities will be the most vital thing. One of the main idea that will be raised in this Final Task is about the low capability of the Indonesian navy in terms of radar, precisely on supporting antennas. With the usual shape of the long and thin Omnidirectional dipole antenna, it will be easy to break due to strong wind and also because it gonna be stuck under some ow bridges. So, we propose to change the configuration and antenna’s material to be embedded in Indonesian fishing boats and patrols. So that it will get more compact, but does not reduce the quality of communication.
Therefore, this final task proposes the design .of UHF omnidirectional wideband antenna configuration composed of patch antennas, so that the width and height of the antenna can be compact, the placement of the antenna will be easier and ship speed does not affect the performance and the antenna lifespan. The frequency being use is 2.4 GHz, and with tile antenna shape, by finding the highest efficiency and VSWR, but keeping it cheap.
From the simulation plotting results using HFSS software, a rectangular microstrip antenna configuration with Return Loss that has entered the desired range is -10.37 dB, and the VSWR plot result is 3.54 dB, which should be less than 2 dB, proving that the impedance is still not yet match. Bandwidth cannot be searched because the VSWR value is not smaller than 2 dB. Gain of the antenna is 2.91 dB, still less than the minimum Gain of 3 dB.
