Abstract

The rapid development of the modern market in Surabaya needs to be accompanied by controlling program so it does not kill traditional markets and small businesses/conventional stores. This study discusses the correlation between the existence of modern markets, especially minimarkets, supermarkets, and hypermarkets on the existence and turnover of conventional stores in Surabaya using the Marked Poisson Point Process approach. This study uses coordinate data obtained from Google Maps, which belongs to the Spatial Point Pattern data type. Based on the analysis conducted, it was concluded that the distribution of grocery stores in Surabaya was uneven. Visually, the existence of modern markets (minimarkets, supermarkets, and hypermarkets) affects the existence of grocery stores. The grocery store data is not generated from a stationary process, so modeling is done using the Inhomogeneous Poisson Point Process. 5. The model shows that if the supermarket and hypermarkets density is fixed, but the minimarket density increases by 1 minimarket/km2, then the probability of the existence of conventionalstores will increase is 1.5 times. Increasing the number of modern markets both minimarkets, supermarkets, and hypermarkets, does not kills the existence of conventional stores around it.
