Abstract

Penggunaan bakteri dalam pencemaran logam berat
melalui penggunaan mikroorganisme atau bagian-bagiannya
sebagai sistem pengolahan yang alami.
Penelitian ini mengupayakan penurunan kandungan
kromium dengan menggunakan spesies bakteri yang berbeda,
yaitu bakteri Bacillus megaterium dan Bacillus subtilis.
Konsentrasi kromium yang digunakan adalah 50, 75, 100 mg/L
dianalisis melalui uji laju pertumbuhan dan uji bioremediasi
dengan variasi salinitas pada media Nutrient Broth.
Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama satu bulan dan
dilakukan di Laboratorium Teknik Lingkungan, FTSP, ITS,
Surabaya. Pengamatan yang dilakukan meliputi kandungan logam
berat kromium (Cr), analisa pH dan suhu, OD (Optical Density),
jumlah koloni bakteri.
Dari hasil penelitian, uji bioremediasi pada bakteri
Bacillus megaterium dengan konsentrasi 150 mg/L mampu
mereduksi 39,73%; konsentrasi 175 mg/L mampu mereduksi
21,22%; konsentrasi 200 mg/L mampu mereduksi 15,60%. Pada
bakteri Bacillus subtilis dengan konsentrasi 150 mg/L mampu
mereduksi sebesar 39,73%; konsentrasi 175 mg/L mampu
mereduksi sebesar 22,26%; konsentrasi 200 mg/L mampu
mereduksi sebesar 16,11%.

The use of bacteria in the problem of heavy metal
contamination through the use of microorganisms or as the parts
of natural treatment systems.
The purpose of this study is to reduce the content of
chromium by using various bacterial species, which are Bacillus
megaterium and Bacillus subtilis. Chromium concentration that
was being used is 50, 75, and 100 mg/L analyzed by testing the
growth rate and the bioremediation test tested with salinity
variations in Nutrient Broth media.
This research was implemented within one month and
done in the Laboratory of Environmental Engineering, FTSP,
ITS, Surabaya. The observations that made include the content of
chromium (Cr), analysis of pH and temperature, OD (Optical
Density), and the number of bacterial colonies.
The research results shows, bioremediation of the test
bacteria Bacillus megaterium with a concentration of 150 mg/L
can reduce 39,73%; concentration of 175 mg/L can reduce
21,22%; concentration of 200 mg/L could reduce 15,60%. In
Bacillus subtilis with a concentration of 150 mg/L could reduce
by 42,83%; concentration of 175 mg/L could reduce by 22,26%;
concentration of 200 mg/L could reduce by 16,11%.
