Abstract

Pada Penelitian ini telah dilakukan sintesis katalis CuO, dan katalis doping Mg1-xCuxF2 (x= 0,025; 0,05; 0,10; dan 0,15 mol) dengan metode sol-gel. Katalis dikarakterisasi dengan difraksi sinar-X (XRD), dan adsorpsi piridin-FTIR. Aktivitas katalitik katalis diuji pada reaksi transesterifikasi minyak kelapa sawit. Hasil XRD menunjukkan bahwa katalis doping Cu dalam MgF2 memiliki puncak difraktogram yang cocok dengan MgF2 yaitu pada 2θ 27,3; 40,5; dan 53,6; 68,07°. Adanya pergeseran pada puncak katalis Mg1-xCuxF2 menunjukkan bahwa logam Cu telah berhasil terdoping dalam sistem MgF2. Semua katalis menunjukkan pita serapan sisi asam Brønsted maupun Lewis. Hasil konversi terbaik dari uji katalitik pada metil ester diperoleh dari katalis CuO dan Mg0,85Cu0,15F2 yaitu 66,45 dan 64,35% =================================================================================================== Mg1-xCuxF2 (x=0,025; 0,05; 0,10; and 0,15) catalysts were synthesized by a sol-gel technique. The catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction, and FT-IR pyridine adsorption method. The catalytic behavior of the samples were tested by transesterification of palm oil. The result of XRD pattern showed that match with the diffractogram peaks of MgF2 standard. Mg1-xCuxF2 catalyst have a Lewis and Brønsted acid from FT-IR spectra. The best results of catalytic testing were obtained by CuO and Mg0,85Cu0,15F2 catalyst, the conversion is 66,45 and 64,35% respectively
