Abstract
Pelapisan kitosan pada stainless steel 304 (SS 304)
dengan metode elektroforesis telah berhasil dilakukan dan
dikarakterisasi. Kualitas pelapisan diuji menggunakan
microprocessor coating thickness gauge mini test 600 untuk
menentukan ketebalan lapisan dan polarisasi potensiodinamik
dalam larutan 3% NaCl untuk mengetahui ketahan korosi
spesimen. Kualitas pelapisan kitosan dipengaruhi oleh waktu dan
tegangan selama proses pelapisan. Waktu pelapisan selama 30
menit pada tegangan 2,5 V menghasilkan lapisan yang seragam
dengan ketahanan korosi yang paling baik.

Electrophoretic chitosan deposits on stainless steel 304
(SS 304) has been produced and characterized. Coating thickness
were characterized by microprocessor coating thickness gauge
mini test 600 and corrosion resistance were characterized by
potentiodynamicpolarization in NaCl 3% solution. The coating
quality was seen to depend on applied voltage and deposition
time during the coating process. Coating process with deposition
time 30 minutes and applied voltage 2,5 Volt produced
homogenous film and the best corrosion resistance.
