Abstract

ABSTRAK
Bonggol jagung merupakan salah satu limbah dari tanaman jagung yang mempunyai banyak manfaat, seperti menjadi bahan campuran pakan sapi. Tetapi hingga saat ini, pemanfaatan bonggol jagung sebagai bahan campuran pakan sapi di Indonesia khususnya di daerah Lamongan Jawa Timur masih belum bisa di lakukan dengan baik karena belum ada alat yang dapat mengolah bonggol jagung. Berdasarkan kondisi tersebut, maka dibuat alat untuk mengolah bonggol jagung dengan mesin pencacah bonggol jagung sebagai bahan campuran pakan sapi.
Untuk membuat konsep, terlebih dahulu melakukan observasi agar bisa mengetahui jumlah bonggol jagung yang akan dicacah. Selanjutnya melakukan studi literatur, agar dapat mengetahui kebutuhan daya dan elemen mesin yang digunakan dalam perancangan mesin. Setelah didapatkan data tersebut, maka dibuatlah mesin pencacah bonggol jagung. Untuk cara pengoperasiannya yaitu dengan cara memasukkan bonggol jagung ke mesin pencacah yang akan dicacah oleh 2 mata pisau pemotong yang berputar.
Dari perencanaan dan perhitungan, dibutuhkan engine dengan daya minimal 5,05 HP dengan rpm 3600 untuk menggerakkan 2 pisau pemotong yang ditranmisikan oleh belt dan pulley. Dimana pulley dengan 2 alur, diameter pulley motor 95 mm, diameter pulley poros 118,75 mm dihubungkan oleh v-belt tipe A nomor 59. Setelah dilakukan uji coba, didapatkan bonggol jagung yang tercacah yang siap untuk diproses silase agar bisa menjadi bahan campuran pakan sapi.

ABSTRACT
Corn cobs are one of the wastes from the corn plant which has many benefits, such as being a mixture of cow feed. But until now, the use of corn cobs as a mixture of cow feed in Indonesia, especially in the Lamongan area of East Java, has not been implemented properly because there are no tools that can process corn cobs. Based on these conditions, a tool is made to process corncobs with a corncob chopper as a mixture of cow feed. To make a concept, first make observations so you can find out the number of corncobs to be chopped. Furthermore, conducting a literature study, in order to find out the power requirements and machine elements used in engine design. After obtaining the data, a corncob chopper was made. For the method of operation, namely by inserting the corncob into the chopper which will be chopped by 2 rotating cutting blades. From planning and calculations, an engine with a minimum power of 5.05 HP with 3600 rpm is needed to move 2 cutting blades transmitted by the belt and pulley. Where is the pulley with 2 grooves, the motor pulley diameter is 95 mm, the shaft pulley diameter is 118.75 mm connected by the v-belt type A number 59.
