Abstract

Corrugated steel plate shear walls or more commonly known as Corrugated Steel Plate Shear Wall (CSSW) and simple steel plate shear wall construction is one type of seismic steel structure stiffener that can anticipate large amounts of earthquake energy. There is difficulty information regarding the detailed behavior of the nonlinear corrugated steel plate shear walls, in particular walls with openings. Because the CSSW design methodology has not been included in the design standards.
In this thesis, research has been carried out on various types of new methods that can be used in CSSW. This research was carried out by applying loading to specimens with various models, namely vertical and horizontal CSSW without opening, and vertical and horizontal CSSW with an opening of 10% - 40%.
The results of this study indicate that each of the Vertical and Horizontal CSSW specimens can increase the stiffness and capacity of the structure. From the results of this study, it was obtained that the highest ductility value was 16.0 and had the highest average energy dissipation value, amounting to 13076.9 kNm. The recommended opening percentage for CSSW is 10% because it has high ductility and energy dissipation values to withstand lateral forces.
