Abstract

Banyak masyarakat berpikir bahwa pendidikan di Indonesia masih cukup mahal. Penilaian tersebut dapat mempengaruhi tingkat kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pendidikan, hingga akhirnya mereka menjadikan pendidikan sebagai salah satu kebutuhan dasar rumah tangga. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan analisa untuk mengetahui seberapa besar masing individu rumah tangga mengeluarkan biaya untuk pendidikan. Penelitian ini telah mengambil sampel data mikro SUSENAS Maret 2019 Kota Surabaya. Surabaya terkenal sebagai Kota yang telah menghasilkan aneka program terkait pendidikan.
Penelitian ini dimulai dari statistik deskriptif untuk mengenal pola data masing-masing variabel. Langkah berikutnya adalah analisa model regresi probit menggunakan software R. Analisa dimulai dari pendugaan parameter kemudian melakukan pengujian signifikasi model. Selanjutnya, melakukan pengujian kesesuaian model menggunakan deviance, pengukuran kriteria kebaikan model menggunakan plot ROC. Langkah terakhir adalah interpretasi model menggunakan variabel-variabel prediktor yang berpengaruh signifikan terhadap pengeluaran untuk biaya sekolah atau kursus 1 tahun terakhir dan menetapkan implikasi penelitian ini terhadap bisnis pendidikan.
Berdasarkan model regresi probit biner yang diperoleh, faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pengeluaran untuk biaya sekolah atau kursus 1 tahun terakhir di Kota Surabaya adalah usia kepala rumah tangga, jumlah anggota rumah tangga, jumlah anggota rumah tangga yang bekerja, jumlah anggota rumah tangga yang berumur kurang dari 5 tahun dan jumlah anggota rumah tangga yang mengambil pendidikan SMA. Pelaku bisnis pendidikan yang ingin memenangkan kebutuhan pasar dapat menjadikan model regresi probit biner yang terbentuk sebagai pertimbangan dalam meninjau biaya SPP/kursus sehingga dapat memperluas pangsa market sampai ke ekonomi kecil.

Societies think education in Indonesia is quite expensive. This social-evaluate could influence the level of public awareness of education until finally, they made education as one of the basic household needs. Therefore, required analysis to find out how big the household issued charges for education. This research has taken sample micro data of SUSENAS in March 2019 Surabaya City. Surabaya known as a city that has a lot of make program education.
This research was started from descriptive statistics to identify the data patterns of each variable. The next step is to analyze the probit regression model using R software. The analysis starts with the estimation of the parameters and then tests the significance of the model. Furthermore, testing the suitability of the model using deviance, measuring the goodness of the model using ROC plot. The final step is the interpretation of the model using predictor variables that have a significant effect on spending on school fees or courses for the last 1 year and determine the implications of this study on business education.
Based on the binary probit regression model obtained, the factors that influence spending on school fees or courses for the last 1 year in the city of Surabaya are the age of the head of the household, the number of household members, the number of working household members, the number of household members aged 2-5 years and the number of household members taking education in high school. Business owner’s education who want to win market needs can make the binary probit regression model formed as a consideration in reviewing tuition fees / courses so that they can expand market share to small economies.
