Abstract

The rapid development of the industry has considerable benefits as well as risks due to its susceptibility to work accidents. PT. X, which is engaged in the shipbuilding industry, is exposed to the threat of work accidents in every job. One of them is the replating process, which is the process of replacing the old ship's plates which have been thinned and then replaced with new plates. In the process of replating the cargo ship KM. CARAKA JAYA NIAGA III-22 owned by PT. PELNI conducted by PT. X has the potential for a work accident. To determine the hazards in this process, this final project analyzes the risks of occupational safety and health (K3) in the ship replating process at PT. X. The method used is HIRARC (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control) which is recommended by OHSAS 18001: 20017. From the hazard identification results, it was found that 30 sources of hazards were at risk to K3 in six jobs. Of the potential hazards, 16.22% have a low risk level, 59.46% have a moderate risk level, and 24.32% have a high risk level. Furthermore, the cause of hazards with a high level of risk is identified using a fishbone diagram. Then obtained recommendations for risk control in the ship replating process can be done by means of eliminations, subtitutions, engineering controls, administrative controls and the use of Personal Protective Equipments (PPE).
