Abstract

Arsitektur hadir ketika adanya aktivitas manusia dalam menciptakan pola keselarasan antara bangunan dengan lingkungan daerah tersebut. Hal ini membuat arsitektur tidak pernah berdiri sendiri sebagai sebuah objek. Namun, wujud arsitektural terus mengalami perkembangan dan perubahan seiring berjalannya waktu. Dalam segi waktu, era globalisasi memiliki dampak terhadap aspek sosial dan aspek arsitektural seperti tidak adanya ‘batasan’ wilayah pada setiap aspek. Pada abad 21 ini, bangunan Indonesia cenderung mengadaptasikan gaya internasional sehingga adanya pengikisan karakter dan nilai arsitektur Indonesia. Padahal nyatanya Indonesia memiliki keberagaman budaya dan potensi daerah yang dapat ditunjukkan melalui arsitektural. Pemunculan identitas tempat pada bangunan merupakan cara yang dapat menunjukan budaya daerah tersebut, hal ini arsitektur juga menjadi perantara aktivitas manusia dan memahami lingkungan sekitar. Melalui pendekatan sense of place dengan memperhatikan konteks lingkungan, perancangan ini diharapkan dapat menciptakan citra suatu daerah berupa suasana yang menimbulkan impresi suasana terhadap pengguna. Pada akhirnya perancangan ini dapat meningkatkan citra dari Kabupaten Jember.

Architecture exists when there are human activities in creating a pattern of harmony between the building and the area’s environment. This makes architecture never stand alone as an object. However, architectural forms continue to experience development and change over time. In terms of time, the era of globalization has an impact on social and architectural aspects, such as the absence of regional ‘boundaries’ in every aspect. In this 21st century, Indonesian buildings tend to adapt to international styles so that there is an erosion of the value and characteristic of Indonesian architecture. In facts, Indonesia has cultural diversity and regional potential that can be demonstrated through architecture. The appearance of the identity of a place in a building is a way that can show the culture of the area, this is the architecture also mediates human activity and understands the surrounding environment. Through the approach of sense of place by paying attention to the environmental context, this design is expected to be able to create an image of an area in the form of an atmosphere that creates an impression of the atmosphere on the user. In the end, this design can improve the image of Jember Regency.
