Abstract

For a really long time, human always have an obsession to always be remembered. The obsession came as a result of what was called “ a near -perpetual war for existence” where those who win the ‘war’ will achieve a glorious win. Later, the obsession turn the perception of human being to be afraid of dead, and all of the concept behind it. As far as it can be worse, human started to deny death. As a result, Throughout their life, human will always search for the true manifestation of their immortality, and architecture is one of the answer.
But as time goes by, architecture face some spectacles as a manifestation of immortality. It somehow become too utopis, too far too reach. This thing started to raise a question for some people, In nowadays context Does Permanence Still Matters? What if we start to accept the truth behind mortality, act as it part of our life, and gradually embracing it?
As an answer to that question, this whole building will act as a manifestation of ephemeral concept, where the ephemeral element, from activity through material exploration can be found and experience in the building.
The design function itself, as a Museum of Worship, which can be used as an exhibition area and a multifaith space that accommodate muslim and catholic religion is intended for those who seek for self – reflection, sanctuary or as a space to communicate to ‘a higher power’. The juxtaposition of all the space and activity will make a really dynamic and fascinating dialogue.
In the end, as the user walk out of the building, the experience of their visit in the building will be expected to form a new perception of mortality.
