Abstract
Teknologi las merupakan teknik penyambungan paling sering digunakan dalam dunia konstruksi bangunan baik darat ataupun bawah laut. Terdapat perbedaan sifat mekanik pada material akibat pengaruh pengelasan di darat dan di bawah laut. Pengelasan bawah laut biasanya menggunakan pengelasan SMAW. Pada penelitian ini, dilakukan analisis pengaruh variasi jenis elektroda dan variasi posisi pengelasan terhadap sifat mekanik sambungan untuk pengelasan bawah air. Hasil pada eksperimen ini adalah hasil uji tarik elektroda E7016 memiliki nilai yang lebih unggul dibandingkan elektroda E6013 dan E7018, jika dibandingkan antara E6013 dan E7016 memang sangat lumrah jika E7016 lebih kuat dan tingkat kekerasannya lebih tinggi daripada E6013 sekalipun sudah menggunakan amper yang berbeda. Namun jika elektroda E7016 dibandingkan dengan E7018 ternyata masih lebih unggul elektroda E7016 dengan menggunakan voltase dan amper yang sama. Selain itu hasil pengamatan uji makro, pengelasan dengan menggunakan elektroda E7018 memiliki kadar porositas yang lebih sedikit dibandingkan dengan elektroda E7016.

Welding technology is the connection technique most often used in the world of building construction, both land and underwater. There are differences in the mechanical properties of the material due to the effect of welding on land and under the sea. Underwater welding usually uses SMAW welding. In this study, an analysis of the effect of variations in the type of electrode and variations in welding positions on the mechanical properties of joints for underwater welding was carried out. The results in this experiment are that the results of the E7016 electrode tensile test have a value that is superior to the E6013 and E7018 electrodes, when compared between E6014 and E7016 it is indeed very common if the E7016 is stronger and the hardness level is higher than the E6013 even though you have used a different amperage. However, if ther E7016 electrode is compared to the E7018, it is still superior to the E7016 electrode using the same voltage and aperage. In addition, the results of the macro test observations show that welding using the E7018 electrode has less porosity than the E7016 electrode.
