Abstract

Pembuatan cangkang kapsul halal dari umbi porang (Amorphophallus oncophyllus) telah berhasil dilakukan. Glukomanan diekstrak dari umbi porang (Amorphophallus oncophyllus) menggunakan pelarut etanol 50% dengan metode maserasi. Hasil ekstraksi berupa tepung glukomanan. Kadar glukomanan pada tepung hasil ekstraksi diuji menggunakan metode gravimetri. Tepung hasil ekstraksi juga diuji kandungan oksalatnya menggunakan metode titrasi permanganometri. Pembuatan cangkang kapsul halal dilakukan dengan variasi konsentrasi tepung glukomanan yaitu 1,0; 1,5; dan 2,0 gram. Tepung glukomanan dilarutkan dalam air 100 ml untuk menghasilkan larutan gel glukomanan dengan konsentrasi berturut-turut 1,0; 1,5; dan 2,0%. Gel glukomanan yang terbentuk diuji viskositas menggunakan viscometer digital. Selanjutnya, gel glukomanan dicetak menjadi cangkang kapsul keras menggunakan dipping pen. Cangkang kapsul yang terbentuk diuji berdasarkan standar Departemen Kesehatan Republik Indonesia, Farmakope Indonesia, dan Kapsulindo Nusantara. Spesifikasi fisik menunjukkan cangkang kapsul berbahan dasar umbi porang memiliki sifat fisik yang mirip dengan cangkang kapsul berbahan dasar gelatin. Pengujian keseragaman bobot menunjukkan persen penyimpangan cangkang kapsul dari umbi porang tidak melebihi standar yang diterapkan oleh Farmakope Indonesia. Uji rilis obat dalam air memenuhi standar Kapsulindo Nusantara untuk cangkang kapsul dengan glukomanan 2,0%. Uji rilis obat dalam larutan asam, cangkang kapsul dari umbi porang memenuhi standar dari Kapsulindo Nusantara.

The fabrication of halal capsule shells from porang tubers (Amorphophallus oncophyllus) has been successfully carried out. Glucomannan was extracted from the porang tuber (Amorphophallus oncophyllus) using 50% ethanol solvent by maceration method. The extraction gave glucomannan flour. Glucomannan flour was tested for glucomannan content using the gravimetric method. The oxalate content in glucomannan flour was carried out using the permanganometric titration method. Then, 1.0, 1.5, and 2.0 grams of glucomannan flour were dissolved in 100 ml water. They produced a glucomannan gel solution with concentrations of 1.0, 1.5, and 2.0%, respectively. The formed glucomannan gel was tested for viscosity using a digital viscometer. Next, the glucomannan gel is molded into a hard capsule shell using a dipping pen. The capsule shell formed is tested according to the standards of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, Indonesian Pharmacopoeia, and Kapsulindo Nusantara. Physical specifications indicate capsule shells made from porang tuber (Amorphophallus oncophyllus) have physical properties similar to capsule shells made from gelatin. The weight uniformity test showed that the percent deviation of the capsule from the porang tuber (Amorphophallus oncophyllus) did not exceed the standard applied by the 3rd edition of Indonesian Pharmacopoeia. The drug release test in water showed that it met had med the standard requirement used by Kapsulindo Nusantara for capsule shells with 2.0% glucomannan. The acid solution's drug release test also showed that it had met the standar requirement of the capsule shell of the porang tuber (Amorphophallus oncophyllus) used by Kapsulindo Nusantara.
