Abstract

Nowadays, there are several tough challenges that are experienced by companies. One of them is keeping their value of assets which will affects the value of the companies. The companies need to provide certainty to the stakeholders from both internal and external perspective. This things are important for companies which have a high and large value assets. PT. X is one of the biggest shipping line in Indonesia which has been delivering goods and services for the past 50 years. One of the branches of PT. X is in Surabaya. With the large task of a shipping companies, PT. X Surabaya has a large number and high value of assets that need to be managed properly in order to minimize unintentional losses. Heavy equipment are of the assets that have supported the companies in the loading-unloading process which is one of the main business process in this company. So far, PT. X Surabaya has implemented ISO 9001 regarding the quality management system, but there has never been an asset management maturity level of the asset management in PT. X Surabaya. From these conditions, it is necessary to evaluate the performance of the organization’s asset management through the asset management maturity assessment to determine the maturity level of the asset management at PT. X Surabaya as well to develop improvement strategies sub-optimal clauses and sub-clauses. This research focused on the heavy equipment maintenance management system. Measurements are carried out based on the guidelines from the ISO 55001: 2014. From the results of the assessments, the maturity level of the heavy equipment management is 2.7 and there are 15 sub-optimal sub clauses that needs to be improve. The improvement strategy is formulated based on the ISO 55002: 2014 with references to ISO 55000: 2014 and ISO 55001: 2014. Clauses and sub-clauses that are subjected to improvements are expected to obtain an output that are expected to give benefits of the asset management based on the ISO 55000: 2014.
