Abstract

In this study, a laser-based audio transmission experiment was conducted using a wavelength of 532 nanometers. This study aims to design a sound transmission system using a laser, determine the relationship between the input voltage and the intensity of the laser light, and compare the output frequency to the input frequency. There are three measurements, namely measuring the light intensity and distance, measuring the laser diode voltage and intensity, and measuring the output frequency against the input frequency. The audio input signal from the source is modulated and transmitted via the laser beam medium. The laser beam is then fired into the receiver circuit which can demodulate the signal which is then sent to the output device in the form of a speaker. From this research, the output frequency against the input frequency can be compared. From the research, it was found that wireless voice transmission can be done using a green laser with a wavelength of 532 nm, with the highest error value of 38.70% at a frequency of 125 Hz and the lowest error value of 0.07% at a frequency of 500 Hz.
