Abstract

Kapal pelayaran rakyat yang diharapkan mampu menjadi penghubung pulau-pulau kecil di Indonesia dalam mengirimkan komoditi harus bisa mempertahankan barang yang dibawa yang disimpan dalam palka khususnya tekstur, rasa, dan bau harus tetap terjaga. Dalam tugas akhir ini dilakukan untuk mendesain suatu sistem pengondisian udara yang menjaga kelembaban udara dan temperatur udara luar masuk ke dalam palka kapal melalui ventilasi dengan rotor desikan yang menggunakan gabungan bahan desikan silika gel dengan molecular sieve serta mencoba beberapa variasi dari pola rotor desikan. Dari hasil penelitian percobaan didapat bahwa rotor model 1 variasi 3 yakni dengan rasio silika gel dan molecular sieve 70:30 memiliki performa penyerapan baik dan menurunkan relative humidity sebesar 30% setelah 60 menit. Nilai performa rotor desikan yang menggunakan model 1 variasi 3 pada penelitian ini dengan parameter perhitungan Dehumidification effectiveness sebesar 35,3%. Nilai perhitungan MRC (The Moisture Removal Capacity) dengan densitas udara 1,2 kg/m3, kapasitas udara supply 0,0783 m3 dan ∆RH 30% yakni menghasilkan sebesar 2,81 kg/h.

The Pelra ship, which is expected to be able to connect small islands in Indonesia in sending commodities, must be able to maintain the goods carried in the hold, especially the texture, taste and smell, must be maintained In this final project is done to design an air conditioning system that keeps air humidity and outside air temperature into the hold of the ship through a vent with a desiccant rotor using a combination of silica gel desiccant with molecular sieve and to try several variations of the desiccant rotor pattern. From the experimental research, it was found that the rotor model 1 variation 3, namely the silica gel and molecular sieve ratio are 70:30, had a good absorption performance and reduced relative humidity by 30% after 60 minutes. The value of the desiccant rotor performance using model 1 variation 3 in this study with the parameter of dehumidification effectiveness calculation of 35.3%. The calculated value of MRC (The Moisture Removal Capacity) with an air density of 1.2 kg / m3, air supply capacity of 0.0783 m3 and ∆RH of 30%, which results in 2.81 kg / h.
