Abstract

The development of the tourism sector is needed for West Lombok, therefore specific strategies are required to reach its maximum tourism potential. The establishment of a water based airport is one of the best choices for developing high-end transportation and tourism facilities in the region. This research aims to identify the most ideal location of the waterbase by analyzing the hydrodynamic conditions, in the territorial waters of West Lombok, using Delft-3D. based on the available waterbase’s regulations of Indonesia., A combination bathymetrical elevation of GEBCO and PUSHIDROSAL are being used to develop waves and current model in Delft-3D, using a monthly tidal data and 100 years return period. a validation process by comparison of modeling result and observational data were also conducted. The root mean square error for current velocity and direction, also tidal elevation model are 6,0%, 10,8 degrees, and 9,8% respectively. Furthermore, three observation location points were selected to determine which location is the most suitable, for waterbase based on port feasibility guidelines. The location of Gili Gede 3 is shown to be the most ideal location with the largest scoring value of 86. The maximum current velocity at this location were at 0,016m / second, with the dominant direction from northwest to southeast. The tidal range is 1,48 m with the maximum wave height is 0,4318 m. With this hydrodynamic conditions, the layout design is proposed based on the state's rules and regulations, as well as additional waterbase references and studies.
