Abstract

Setiap anak berhak memiliki karakter di dalam dirinya agar kelak menjadi pribadi yang
baik. Apabila selama masa pertumbuhannya, karakter anak dapat dibangun dengan baik, di masa
yang mendatang anak-anak tersebut dapat memberikan kontribusi yang positif bagi bangsanya,
dan begitu pula sebaliknya. Hingga saat ini, fenomena yang marak terjadi berkaitan dengan
anak yang terlantar adalah putus sekolah, kurangnya pengetahuan/ilmu, dan pengangguran.
Pemerintah Jawa Timur berinisiatif untuk mendirikan UPT. Pelayanan Sosial Asuhan Anak
(PSAA) sebagai sarana perlindungan anak dari keterlantaran pada tahun 2003.
Sejak berdirinya UPT. PSAA hingga saat ini, merupakan salah satu fasilitas yang dapat
memenuhi kebutuhan anak terlantar akan tetapi terdapat permasalahan berupa ruangan yang
tidak berfungsi dan interiornya belum dikelola secara optimal yang menyebabkan tidak
optimalnya pola pengasuhan yang menyebabkan susahnya mengasuh anak-anak dalam hal
kedisiplinan di UPT. PSAA. Hal ini melatarbelakangi munculnya alternatif solusi berupa
perancangan desain interior UPT. PSAA.
Konsep Mengoptimalisasi fasilitas diterapkan sebagai alternatif solusi permasalahan.
Melalui kelengkapan fasilitas untuk menunjang karakter anak yang disiplin diwujudkan melalui
desain fasilitas interior yang dibutuhkan anak tanpa harus sepenuhnya diawasi oleh pengasuh.
Sehingga pengasuh dapat bekerja lebih terfokus, efektif dan efisien. Yang mana hal ini
bertujuan untuk pengoptimalan pola kerja pengasuhan dan terwujudnya visi misi UPT. PSAA
dalam mewujudkan anak yang lebih kuat, sejahtera dan berdaya.

Every child has the right to have character in him so that one day he becomes a good
person. If during their growth period, children's character can be developed properly, in the
future these children can make a positive contribution to their nation, and vice versa. Until now,
the phenomena that have occurred frequently related to neglected children are dropping out of
school, lack of knowledge / knowledge, and unemployment. The East Java government took
the initiative to establish UPT. Pelayanan Sosial Asuhan Anak (PSAA) as a means of protecting
children from neglect in 2003.
Since the establishment of UPT. Until now, PSAA is one of the facilities that can meet
the needs of neglected children, but there are problems in the form of rooms that are not
functioning and the interior has not been managed optimally which results in not optimal
parenting patterns which makes it difficult to care for children in terms of discipline in UPT.
PSAA. This is the background for the emergence of alternative solutions in the form of interior
design. UPT. PSAA.
The concept of optimizing facilities is applied as an alternative solution to the problem.
Through complete facilities to support the disciplined character of the child, it is manifested
through the design of the interior facilities that the child needs without having to be fully
supervised by a carer. So that caregivers can work more focused, effectively and efficiently.
Which is aimed at optimizing parenting work patterns and the realization of the UPT PSAA 's
vision and mission realizing children who are stronger, more prosperous and empowered.
