Abstract

The city of Surabaya is the second largest metropolitan city in Indonesia after Jakarta. The population of this city is increasing every year. This increasion is very influential if people still use private transportation to move places which will cause traffic jams. Therefore, the Surabaya city government wants to reduce the density of motorized vehicles by building bus station facilities. The government hopes that the existence of good bus station facilities can influence the community to switch from private transportation to public transportation.
One of the bus stations to be designed is the Joyoboyo Surabaya Intermodal Station. Joyoboyo Intermodal Station is one of the buildings located in the southern part of Surabaya City. This bus station has been revitalized by the Surabaya city government with a green concept of modern building. However, the interior has not been managed optimally. The interior of this bus station has not shown the creativity side and some areas feel monotonous and lack space optimization.
This bus station will be designed with Batik Semanggi Surabaya themes as a branding icon. Educating the citizens of Surabaya in getting to know culture and the environment can be done by implementing this branding. In addition to introducing culture, it is hoped that this branding image can attract the public's interest to switch transportation.
