Abstract

Kata kunci: autonomous, MASS, Port to port

Technological developments in the world have led to an industrial revolution starting from 1.0 to 4.0. One of the technological developments in the era of the 4.0 industrial revolution is the shipping technology. The development of the shipping technology and industry plays an important role in modern human civilization. Advance of technological developments have been improved in the form of ship design, construction processes till ship shipping operations. The shipping activity itself plays a role in international trade as a means of logistics transportation. However, the shipping industry is one of the industries that have a high risk because there are still many ship accidents that occur. Based on the study, most ship accidents that occur are due to human errors or "human errors". Since 1999, ship accidents caused by human error have reached 75 percent to 95 percent. From these data, it is known that, although the International Safety Management (ISM) Code 1998 has been implemented by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), accidents often occur and cannot be avoided. So from these problems, a Maritime Autonomous Surface Ship (MASS) prototype was designed and built as a basic concept for unmanned ship development to support international shipping activities. MASS prototype that are to be designed is a prototype of unmanned ship with autonomy level 4 where the ship is designed to operate without a crew on board, while the decision is taken by the captain on the ground (human on the loop). This concept design can be used as a solution in reducing the risk of ship accidents due to human error and can be a solution for the high needs for shipping and trade activities. In this final project, the MASS ship prototype (model scale) design and production process will be carried out including its support system which can represent level 4 unmanned vessels. following the classification regulations, statutory codes as well as the operational requirements of the ship, especially for MASS level 4. The results this ship design is general arrangement for a MASS ship,3D design model, and ship prototype. The port to port concept will also being realized in animation so that the aspects of safety, reliability, and efficiency of ship shipping can be fulfilled.
