Abstract
Sebagai kota dengan tingkat kepadatan penduduk per km2 sebesar 15.900 jiwa, Kota Jakarta menjadi kota dengan tingkat kepadatan penduduk tertinggi di Indonesia. Dengan tingkat perekonomian Kota Jakarta yang terus bertumbuh tiap tahunnya, akibatnya semakin banyak jumlah masyarakat dari berbagai daerah untuk bekerja dan tinggal di Kota Jakarta. Hal ini menyebabkan lahan yang menjadi terbatas sementara tingkat kebutuhan akan perumahan dan fasilitas public semakin meningkat. Disamping itu, permasalahan seperti banjir, kemacetan dan polusi juga menjadi dampak buruk dari meningkatnya penduduk di Kota Jakarta.
Dalam upaya pemerintah untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, pemerintah bersama dengan pihak – pihak terkait menerapkan konsep Transit Oriented Development (TOD). Konsep ini diusung bersama – sama dengan pembangunan Light Rail Transit (LRT) yang diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kualitas hidup masyarakat di Kota Jakarta dengan mengedepankan penggunaan transportasi umum dan tata letak fasilitas publik yang dekat dengan tempat tinggal masyarakat. Salah satu penerapan konsep TOD di Kota Jakarta adalah pembangunan Apartemen Urban Signature – LRT City Ciracas (USC) yang berlokasi di Jakarta Timur. Sesuai dengan namanya, Apartemen USC akan terkoneksi dengan LRT sehingga penghuni dapat menggunakan LRT dengan optimal. Disamping itu, Apartemen USC juga akan dilengkapi oleh fasilitas umum seperti sekolah, rumah sakit, supermarket dan fasilitas publik lainnya.
Untuk memenuhi kebutuhan tenaga kerja bagi penyedia jasa dalam mewujudkan pembangunan fasilitas publik tersebut diperlukan tenaga kerja yang kompeten dan memahami pekerjaan yang akan dilakukannya. Oleh karena itu, mahasiswa dalam Departemen Teknik Sipil Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember diwajibkan untuk melaksanakan kegiatan Kerja Praktik sebagai salah satu syarat menyelesaikan studinya. Tujuan dari kegaitan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan wawasan mahasiswa mengenai bidang pekerjaan ketekniksipilan sehingga ilmu yang telah dipelajari selama perkuliahan dapat dikembangkan dengan pengalaman di lapangan.
Penulis melaksanakan kegiatan Kerja Praktik pada proyek Apartemen USC selama 2 (dua) bulan terhitung dari tanggal 10 Februari 2021 hingga 10 April 2021 dengan ranah pekerjaan dalam divisi Quality Control, Produksi dan Engineering. Adapun permasalahan – permasalahan yang ditemui sangat beragam, mulai dari permasalahan teknis, kualitas produk hingga permasalahan finansial proyek itu sendiri. Selama kegiatan Kerja Praktik berlangsung penulis mendapati informasi mengenai material, alat dan metode pelaksanaan tiap pekerjaan. Dari pengalaman penulis, seorang yang bekerja dalam bidang teknik sipil harus mampu menemukan solusi kritis dan fleksibel dari tiap permasalahan, pemahaman konsep dasar mekanika teknik serta kemampuan komunikasi yang baik.

As a city with a population density per km2 consist of 15,900 people, Jakarta is the city with the highest population density in Indonesia. With Jakarta economy continues to grow every year, as a result more and more people from various regions come to work and live in the Jakarta. This causes land become limited while the demand for housing and public facilities is increasing. In addition, problems such as flooding, congestion and pollution are also a negative impact of the increasing population in the city of Jakarta.
In the government's efforts to overcome these problems, the government and related parties start the concept of Transit Oriented Development (TOD). This concept is carried out together with the construction of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) which is expected to improve the quality of life of the people in the city of Jakarta by prioritizing the use of public transportation and maximize the layout of public facilities that close to where people live. One of the application of TOD concept in the Jakarta is Urban Signature Apartment – LRT City Ciracas (USC) that located in East Jakarta. As the name implies, USC Apartments will be connected to the LRT so that residents can use the LRT optimally. In addition, USC Apartments will also be equipped with public facilities such as schools, hospitals, supermarkets and other public facilities.
To meet the workforce needs for service providers (Contractor or Property Developer) in realizing the construction of public facilities, a competent workforce is needed and they have to understand about the work itself. Therefore, students in the Department of Civil Engineering in Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology are required to carry out practical work activities as one of the requirements for completing their studies. The purpose of this activity is to increase students insight about works in the field of civil engineering, so that the knowledge that has been learned in the universities can be enhanced with experience in the field.
The author carries out practical work activities on the USC Apartment project for 2 (two) months starting from February 10 2021 to April 10 2021 with the scope of work in 3 (three) division and there are Quality Control, Production and Engineering divisions. The problems encountered were very diverse, from technical problems, product quality to financial problems for the project itself. During the practical work, the writer found information about the materials, tools and construction methods for each job. From the author's experience, someone who works in the field of civil engineering must be able to find critical and flexible solutions for each problem, understand the basic concepts of engineering mechanics and have good communication skills.
