Abstract
Setiap jenis memiliki konsep perencanaanya masing-masing. Perencanaan bangunan pelindung pantai modern meliputi analisis data gelombang, peramalan gelombang, perhitungan elevasi muka air laut, deformasi gelombang, dan stabilitas struktur. Sedangkan perencanaan bangunan pelindung pantai alamiah meliputi pemilihan zona penanaman dan jenis tanaman yang sesuai

Shore is the land bordering a usually large body of water. There are so many phenomenon happened in this area such as wind, climate change, wave generation, water level fluctuation, and sea current. Those phenomenon are related to shoreline changes which caused by longshore sediment transport, cross shore sediment transport, abrasion, and accretion. Shoreline changes is a normal process and can be harmful if it doesn't reach its equilibrium state. To overcome the problems caused by disequilibrium state, shore protection is built to equalize the shoreline condition. In general there are two types of shore protection, man-made shore protection or hard structure and natural shore protection or soft structure. Each type has its own design method. Wave data analysis, wave hindcasting, water level calculation, wave deformation, and structure stability are basic processes to design man-made shore protection. On the other side, natural shore protection design method require different processes such as choosing planting zone and suitable vegetation
