Abstract
Perguruan tinggi sebagai pencetak SDM unggul memiliki peranan untuk menciptakan mahasiswa yang siap kerja dengan keterampilan mumpuni. Dengan kemampuan tersebut mahasiswa dapat menentukan rencana karirnya di masa depan sehingga dapat mengurangi angka pengangguran terbuka dari lulusan sarjana. Tingginya pengangguran terbuka dari mahasiswa sarjana mengindikasikan jika mahasiswa sarjana memiliki kesiapan kerja yang rendah. Salah satu bentuk layanan perguruan tinggi untuk mendukung karir mahasiswanya adalah program pemilihan karir seperti yang tersedia di Manajemen Bisnis ITS. Guna memanfaatkan dukungan karir atas fasilitas yang disediakan Manajemen Bisnis ITS maka diperlukan penelitian sejauh mana persiapan mahasiswanya atas soft skill dan hard skill untuk mencapai pemilihan karir paska kuliah sehingga fasilitas layanan yang disediakan dapat bermanfaat secara maksimal. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari keterampilan soft skill dan hard skilll dalam pemilihan karir mahasiswa. Penelitian dilakukan terhadap 149 responden S1 Manajemen Bisnis ITS dengan teknik pengambilan sampel adalah purposive sampling. Jenis penelitian ini adalah koklusif deskriptif - multiple cross sectional dan pendekatan kuantiatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan secara online menggunakan media kuesioner dengan pengukuran skala Likert. Data penelitian yang telah terkumpul diolah menggunakan software SPSS dan Partial Least Square Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM). Hasil pengujian diperoleh bahwa soft skill dan hard skill berpengaruh positif terhadap pemilihan karir mahasiswa. Pengaruh soft skill yang paling besar adalah kemampuan problem solving sedangkan untuk hard skill adalah kemampuan dasar ilmu pengetahuan. Hasil dari penelitian ditarik implikasi manajerial terhadap mahasiswa dan departemen dengan tujuan mempersiapkan mahasiswa siap pakai paska kuliah.

University as an educational organization has a role in creating students who are ready to work with qualified skills. With this ability, student colleges can determine their future career plans so that they can reduce the unemployment rate for undergraduate students. The high open unemployment of undergraduate students indicates that undergraduate students have low job readiness. One form of university services to support student careers is career planning programs such as those available at ITS Business Management. To take advantage of career support for the facilities provided by ITS Business Management, it is necessary to research the extent to which students prepare for soft skills and hard skills to achieve post-college career planning so that the service facilities provided can be of maximum benefit. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of soft skills and hard skills in student career planning. The study was conducted on 149 respondents of ITS Business Management S1 with the sampling technique is purposive sampling. This type of research is a descriptive conclusive - multiple cross-sectional and a quantitative approach. The data was collected online using a questionnaire media with a Likert scale measurement. The collected research data were processed using SPSS software and Partial Least Square Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM). ). The test results show that soft skills and hard skills have a positive effect on student career planning. The biggest influence of soft skills is problem solving ability, while hard skills are basic knowledge skills. The results of the research draw managerial implications for students and departments with the aim of preparing students to be ready for post-college.
