Abstract
Industri otomotif semakin berkembang seiring permintaan dari masyarakat yang tinggi. Hal ini menjadikan beberapa perusahaan bersaing untuk mendapatkan order yang tinggi dari customer. Semakin tinggi jumlah order semakin besar potensi ketidaksesuaian produk yang dikirim. Dalam PT XYZ terjadi kasus claim dari customer 2 bulan secara berurutan karena adanya product defect yang sama. Ini bisa membuat kepercayaan dari customer terhadap produk yang dihasilkan menurun. Kasus claim tersebut terjadi karena adanya permasalahan di perusahaan supplier karena adanya gap antara actual internal defect dengan target internal defect sebesar 13.86% dan adanya gap actual cost of defect antara actual dengan target sebesar 17.36 Juta.. Dengan terjadinya kasus claim, dan terjadinya masalah defect di internal perusahaan perlu dilakukan identifikasi dan investigasi mendalam agar tidak terjadi claim di kemudian hari. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi serta menemukan akar masalah dari problem defect yang terjadi di internal perusahaan, menurunkan ratio defect sesuai dengan target perusahaan serta mengetahui pengaruh antara penurunan defect terhadap produktivitas dan saving cost. Penelitian diawali dengan mengidentifikasi dan menentukan prioritas masalah menggunakan Pareto Diagram untuk mengetahui defect yang akan dilakukan improvement. Selanjutnya untuk menentukan faktor dan akar penyebab masalah menggunakan metode QA Matrik Diagram dan Ishikawa Diagram. Dari hasil pengumpulan dan pengolahan data, didapatkan faktor yang mempengaruhi defect adalah faktor Metode, Mesin, Manusia. Dari hasil improvement yang sudah dilakukan, terdapat penurunan claim customer sebesar 50% (4 claim menjadi 2 claim). Selanjutnya internal defect turun sebesar 90% dari target 75% (18.15% menjadi 1.60%). Selanjutnya hasil improvement juga berpengaruh terhadap produktivitas mould/jam dimana mengalami kenaikan dari 74.51 mould/jam menjadi 90.01 mould/jam (Naik 17%). Dan hasil improvement menghasilkan saving cost sebesar Rp 18.388.690 per bulan dan Rp 220.664.280 per tahun

The automotive industry is growing in line with the high demand from the market. This growth makes some supplier companies compete each other to get higher orders from the market. The higher the orders, the higher the potential for instability. In PT XYZ, the occurrence of claims from customers for 2 consecutive months with bad products made customers' trust in the company's products decrease. The company fault to reduce gap between the actual internal defect and the target internal defect of 13.86% and the actual cost defect gap between the actual and the target of 17.36 million. Due to claims and defect problems within the company, it is necessary to identify and investigate the root cause so that there are no more claims. The purpose of this study is to identify and find the root cause of the defect problem that occurs in the company, and also to reduce the defect ratio in accordance with the company's target and determine the effect of reducing defects on productivity and cost saving. The initial stage in the research is to identify and determine the priority of the problem using Pareto Diagrams to find out the defects that need to be improved. Furthermore, to determine the factors and root causes of the problem using the QA Matrix Diagram and Ishikawa Diagram methods. The results of data collection and data processing is the factors that affect the defect are Methods, Machines, Humans. From the results of the improvement that has been done, there is a decrease in customer claims by 50% (4 claims to 2 claims). In addition, internal defects decreased by 90% from the target of 75% (18.15% to 1.60%). Furthermore, the results of the improvement also affect the productivity of mold/hour which increased from 74.51 molds/hour to 90.01 molds/hour (Up 17%). And the results of the improvement resulted in a saving cost of Rp. 18.388.690 per month and Rp. 220.664.280 per year
