Abstract

PT. Petrokimia Gresik merupakan perusahaan yang berjalan
dalam lingkup departemen perindustrian dan perdagangan yang
bergerk dalam produksi pupuk, bahan-bahan kimia dan jasa lainnya
seperti kontruksi dan engineering. PT. Petrokimia Gresik merupakan
pabrik pupuk tertua kedua di Indonesia setelah pupuk sriwijaya
Palembang dan juga pabrik pupuk terlengkap di antara pabrik lainnya.
Salah satu produknya adalah HCl yang memiliki kadar 32% . HCl
tersebut diproduksi dari hasil uap reaksi pupuk ZK yang berada di
dalam Reaktor yang memiliki suhu 500 – 800◦C. Tapi pada proses
produksinya ternyata terjadi perbedaan temperature yang cukup tinggi
pada inlet temperature grafit cooler antara data desan degan data
aktual yang mengakibatkan outlet dari grafit cooler mengalami
penurunan, oleh sebab itu perlu dilakukan analisis perpindahan panas
dan effektifitas pada grafit cooler.
Pada tugas akhir ini, dilakukan proses perhitungan menggunakan
analisa perpindahan panas dengan metode Log Mean Temperature
Different (LMTD) dan NTU-Effectiveness pada Grafit Cooler
PT.Petrokimia Gersik. Dalam perhitungan, memfariasikan beberapa hal yang berpengaruh pada efektifitas Grafit Cooler ini. Analisa
perpindahan panas dan effectiveness digunakan untuk mengetahui
kerja Grafit Cooler. Diambil sampling data pada saat performance test
Grafit Cooler pada beberapa hari yang dan dengan data aktual, suhu
(temperatur) masuk dan keluar Grafit Cooler, suhu (temperatur)
masuk dan keluar air pendingin yang saling mendekati; kemudian
dirarata.
Hasil yang didapat dari tugas akhir ini adalah nilai laju
perpindahan panas dan effectiveness (ε) Grafit Cooler. Pada
perhitungan data aktual data tertinggi didapatkan pada perhitungan ke
8 yang memiliki nilai perpindahan panas sebesar 77.836,14 w dengan
Effisiensi sebesar 54 %. Sedangkan data terendah pada perhitungan
ke 6 yang memiliki perpindahan panas sebesar 66.555,54 w dengan
effisiensi sebesar 46 %.

PT. Petrokimia Gresik is a company that runs within the
scope of the Ministry of Industry and Trade which is engaged in the
production of fertilizers, chemicals and other services such as
construction and engineering. PT. Petrokimia Gresik is the second
oldest fertilizer factory in Indonesia after Sriwijaya Palembang
fertilizer and also the most complete fertilizer factory among other
factories. One of the products is HCl which has a content of 32%. The
HCl is produced from the reaction steam of ZK fertilizer in the reactor
which has a temperature of 500-800◦C. But in the production process,
it turns out that there is a fairly high temperature difference at the inlet
temperature of the graphite cooler between the design data and the
actual data which causes the outlet of the graphite cooler to decrease,
therefore it is necessary to analyze the heat transfer and effectiveness
of the graphite cooler.
in this final project, the calculation process is carried out
using heat transfer analysis with the Log Mean Temperature Different
(LMTD) and NTU-Effectiveness methods on the Graphite Cooler
PT.Petrokimia Gersik. In the calculation, there are several things that
affect the effectiveness of this Graphite Cooler. Analysis of heat
transfer and effectiveness is used to determine the work of the
Graphite Cooler. Sampling of data was taken during the Graphite
Cooler performance test on several days and with actual data, the
incoming and outgoing temperature (temperature) of the Graphite
Cooler, the incoming and outgoing temperature (temperature) of the
cooling water which are close to each other; then averaged.
The result of this final project is the value of heat transfer
rate and effectiveness (ε) of Graphite Cooler. In the calculation of the
actual data, the highest data is obtained in the 8th calculation which
has a heat transfer value of 77,836.14 w with an efficiency of 54%.
While the lowest data in the 6th calculation has a heat transfer of
66,555.54 w with an efficiency of 46%.
