Abstract

Kajian korelasi jarak dengan konsentrasi logam berat dilakukan di kawasan industri yang berada di Kabupaten Pasuruan (Beji dan Rembang). Beberapa jenis industri seperti pabrik kayu, pabrik sepatu, pabrik pengolahan makanan, pabrik smelting, pabrik peleburan alumunium, pabrik pengolahan besi dan pabrik pengolahan logam berada pada kawasan tersebut. Polutan logam berat yang bersumber dari pabrik pada kawasan tersebut terbang bersama udara dan mengendap dipermukaan tanahdikhawatirkan akan berdampak negatif terhadap kesehatan masyarakat dan lingkungan. Oleh sebab itu, perlu dilakukan penelitian mengenai konsentrasi dan karakterisasi logam berat berdasarkan pada kawasan industri tersebut. Pengambilan sampel tanah dilakukan di lokasi sekitar kawasan industri dengan jarak 200 m, 500 m, 2 km dan 5 km dari sumber, dengan tiga kedalaman yaitu pada kedalaman 0–15 cm, 20–30 cm dan 35–40 cm. Preparasi sampel dilakukan dengan proses pengeringan kemudian dihaluskan hingga 150 mesh. Analisis sampel dilakukan menggunakan XRF (X-Ray Fluorescence) dengan unsur yang teridentifikasi diantaranya adalah Pb, Zn, Cd, V, Mn, Al, P, Ca, Fe, K, Si dan Ti. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan konsentrasi Pb di lokasi Beji berkorelasi terhadap jarak sumber dan kedalaman. Pada jarak 200 m dari sumber, konsentrasi Pb mencapai 4374 mg/kg (80 kali lebih tinggi dibandingkan pada jarak 5km) dan konsentrasi Pb pada permukaan tanah (0-15 cm) mencapai 0,4% yang relatif lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kedalaman lainnya. Tingginya konsentrasi logam berat Pb tersebut diperkirakan berkorelasi erat terhadap jenis aktivitas industri peleburan aki bekas yang terdapat dikawasan Beji. Fenomena logam berat Pb ini tidak ditemukan untuk lokasi Rembang yang memiliki aktivitas industri yang berbeda dengan Beji. Adapun untuk logam berat selain Pb, hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan tidak ditemukan adanya korelasi yang signifikan antara konsentrasi logam berat baik terhadap kedalaman tanah maupun jarak dari sumber. Hasil riset ini menunjukkan sebaran logam berat disekitar kawasan industri bervariasi dan dapat digunakan sebagai langkah awal dalam memprediksi korelasinya terhadap aktivitas industri, agar strategi yang tepat dapat dirumuskan untuk melindungi masyarakat dan lingkungan sekitar.

The study of the correlation between distance and heavy metal concentrations was carried out in an industrial area in Pasuruan Regency (Beji and Rembang). Several types of industries such as wood factories, shoe factories, food processing factories, smelting factories, aluminum smelters, iron processing plants and metal processing plants are located in the area. Heavy metal pollutants originating from factories in the area fly with the air and settle on the ground, it is feared that it will have a negative impact on public health and the environment. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research on the concentration and characterization of heavy metals based on the industrial area. Soil sampling were taken in locations around the industrial area with a distance of 200 m, 500 m, 2 km and 5 km from the source, with three depths; 0–15 cm, 20–30 cm and 35–40 cm. Sample preparation was carried out by a drying process and then pulverized to 150 mesh. Sample analysis was performed using XRF (X-Ray Fluorescence) with identified elements including Pb, Zn, Cd, V, Mn, Al, P, Ca, Fe, K, Si and Ti. The results showed, the concentration of Pb at the Beji location correlated with the source distance and depth. At a distance of 200 m from the source, the Pb concentration reached 4374 mg/kg (80 times higher than at a distance of 5km) and the Pb concentration at the soil surface (0–15 cm) reached 0.4% which was relatively higher than other depths. The high concentration of heavy metal Pb is estimated to be correlated with the type of industrial activity in the used acid battery smelting area in the Beji. This phenomenon of heavy metal Pb was not found for the Rembang location which has different industrial activities from Beji. As for heavy metals other than Pb, the results indicate there is no significant correlation between heavy metal concentrations both to soil depth and distance from the source. The results of this research show, the distribution of heavy metals around industrial areas varies and can be used as a first step in predicting their correlation to industrial activities, so that appropriate strategies can be formulated to protect the community and the surrounding environment.
