Abstract

====================================================

Pesisir Barat Regency is one of the regencies whose territory is located between the confluence of two tectonic plates, namely the Eurasian plate and the Indo-Australian plate. Therefore, Pesisir Barat, Regency is often experience earthquake impacts. One of the fairly large earthquakes with a magnitude of 6,9 on the Richter Scale occurred on Friday, August 2, 2019 at 19 03 25 WIB. The earthquake resulted in changes (deformation) of the ground surface. Along with technological developments, measurements of post-earthquake deformation on August 2, 2019 in Pesisir Barat Regency can be carried out by using the Differential Interferometry Synthetic Aperture Radar (DInSAR) method from a pair of Sentinel-1A satellite images with acquisition dates of June 1, 2019 and October 23, 2019 as well as DEM SRTM 3 Version 4. Then, the results of processing with the DInSAR method will be analyzed compared to geological data and fault data. The results of the DInSAR method show that the deformation along the Line of Sight (LOS) has varying values with a range of -8.0 cm to 27.9 cm. The statistical calculation process indicated that Pesisir Barat Regency experienced an uplift of 3.1 cm to 14.4 cm during the observation period. This phenomenon is in line with the tectonic activity and rocks that compose the Pesisir Barat Regency, namely the Quaternary Volcanic Rocks, the Simpang Aur Rocks, Lemau Formation and Alluvium. Another factor that is in line with this phenomenon is the existence of the Sumatran Fault with various segments. At the end, the research of the DInSAR method was validated by comparing it to the previous research by the LAPAN agency for two periods. The first period (December 08, 2017 – October 23, 2019) has a correlation value of 0,762329793 with a very strong correlation strength. Meanwhile, the second period (1 June 2019 – 23 October 2019) has a correlation value of 0,41482813 with a moderate correlation strength. In addition, this DInSAR research method was also validated by being compared to the results of DInSAR processing using GMTSAR software with a research period of 01 June 2019 – 23 October 2019, which has a correlation value of 0,017399753 with a very low correlation strength.
