Abstract
Tanah mempunyai peranan yang sangat vital di alam yaitu sebagai tempat makhluk hidup berpijak dan beraktivitas sehingga tidak dapat dipisahkan dengan organisme di bumi . Namun selama beberapa dekade terakhir, tanah di berbagai belahan dunia mengalami masalah penurunan kualitas tanah akibat pencemaran polutan organik maupun anorganik. Kualitas tanah dapat dilihat berdasarkan zona biodegrabilitasnya. Zona biodegrabilitas dapat ditentukan berdasarkan rasio BOD/COD tanah terlebih dahulu sehingga zona dan pengolahan pada tanah tersebut dapat diketahui. Karena itu, diperlukan kajian pengukuran BOD/COD untuk tanah yang tercemar.
Sumber literatur yang digunakan dalam studi literatur ini adalah artikel dan jurnal ilmiah, buku, prosiding, tugas akhir, tesis, disertasi, dan literatur lain yang berhubungan dengan topik yang dibahas. Metode studi literatur yaitu mencari sumber literatur menggunakan kombinasi kata kunci seperti Tanah, BOD, COD, Biodegrabilitas pada website pencarian jurnal seperti Google Scholar, Mendeley, ScienceDirect, ResearchGate, Elsevier dan lain-lain.
Tanah tercemar kontaminan berupa lindi di TPA Al-Qurain dan tanah tercemar herbisida pendimehalin menjadi studi kasus metode pengukuran BOD/COD pada tanah. Metode pengukuran BOD dan COD pada tanah dipilih berdasarkan kelebihannya, metode tersebut ialah metode respirometrik dan metode modifikasi refluks tertutup dengan spektrofotometer. Pengukuran BOD dan COD tersebut menghasilkan adanya rasio BOD/COD tanah tercemar lindi TPA Al-Qurain sebesar 0,103 yang termasuk zona stabil, sedangkan rasio BOD/COD tanah tercemar Pendimethalin di Kansas memiliki rasio 0,87 yang bersifat biodegradable. Peningkatan rasio BOD/COD pada tanah lindi dilakukan dengan pengolahan campuran seperti kombinasi koagulasi dan ultrafiltasi maupun fitoremediasi dengan rerumputan Vetiver dan Alfalfa untuk meremediasi kontaminan organik dan tumbuhan jarak pagar yang mampu meremediasi logam maupun penambahan bahan organik seperti kompos yang terbentuk dari kotoran hewan, contohnya kambing dan sapi.

Soil has a very vital role on earth, namely as a place for living things to stand and move so that they cannot be separated from living things. However, during the last few decades, soils in various parts of the world have experienced problems of soil quality degradation due to pollution of organic and inorganic pollutants. Soil quality can be seen based on its biodegradability zone. The biodegradability zone can be determined based on the BOD/COD ratio of the soil in advance so that the zone and processing of the soil can be known. Therefore, it is necessary to study the measurement of BOD/COD for polluted soil.
The sources of literature used in this literature study are articles and scientific journals, books, proceedings, final projects, theses, dissertations, and other literature related to the topics discussed. The literature study method is to search for literature sources using a combination of keywords such as Soil, BOD, COD, Biodegradability on journal search websites such as Google Scholar, Mendeley, ScienceDirect, ResearchGate, Elsevier and others.
Soil pollution with contaminants in the form of leachate in the Al-Qurain TPA and soil contaminated with herbicides are case studies of the method of measuring BOD/COD in soil. The method of measuring BOD and COD in soil was chosen based on its advantages, the methods were the respirometric method and the closed reflux modification method with a spectrophotometer. The measurement of BOD and COD resulted in a BOD/COD ratio of soil contaminated with leachate at the Al-Qurain Landfill of 0.103, which was included in the stable zone, while the BOD/COD ratio of contaminated soil with Pendimethalin in Kansas had a ratio of 0.87 which was biodegradable. Increasing the BOD/COD ratio in leachate is carried out by mixed processing such as a combination of coagulation and ultrafiltration as well as phytoremediation with Vetiver and Alfalfa grasses to remediate organic contaminants and jatropha plants that are able to remediate metals as well as the addition of organic materials such as compost formed from animal waste, for example goat and cow
