Abstract
Nikel adalah satu diantara banyak logam yang memiliki banyak pemanfaatan. Salah satu manfaatnya adalah sebagai bahan dasar pembuatan katoda baterai mobil listrik yaitu NiSO4.6H2O atau bisa disebut nickel (II) sulfate hexahydrate. Bahan dasar pembuatan dari NiSO4.6H2O ini adalah bijih Nikel laterit yang dapat diproses melalui dua metode pirometalurgi dan hidrometalurgi. Salah satu produk dari pirometalurgi pada ore nikel laterit adalah ferronickel. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh pH ferronickel yang digunakan pada proses hydrometalurgi metode netralisasi terhadap recovery Fe, Ni, dan Co untuk sintesis NiSO¬4.6H2O yang terbentuk dengan variasi pH 4, 4.5, 5, dan 5.5 menggunakan Pengujian X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX), dan Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS). Dari penelitian yang dilakukan didapatkan variabel dengan hasil terbaik pada pH 3,9 +- 0,1 dimana persentase recovery nikel mencapai 53,24% dengan penambahan agen penetral NaOH sebanyak 70 ml. Pada proses akhir kristralisasi yang dilakukan juga menghasilkan senyawa NiSO4.6H2O.=====================================================================Nickel is one kind of metal that has many uses. Metal could uses as a basic material for making electric car battery cathodes, namely NiSO4.6H2O or nickel (II) sulfate hexahydrate. The basic material for the manufacture of NiSO4.6H2O is laterite nickel ore which can be processed through two pyrometallurgical and hydrometallurgical methods. One of the products of pyrometallurgy on laterite nickel ore is ferronickel. This study have a purpose to analyzing the effect of the pH of the ferronickel used in the hydrometallurgical process of the neutralization method on the recovery of Fe, Ni, and Co for the synthesis of NiSO4.6H2O which is formed with pH variations 4, 4.5, 5, dan 5.5 using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), From the research, it was found that the variable with the best results was at pH 3.9 +- 0,1 where the nickel recovery percentage reached 53,24% with the addition of a neutralizing agent NaOH as much as 70 ml. At the end of the crystallization process, it also produces NiSO4.6H2O compounds.
