Abstract

Dengan adanya penggunaan yang terus menerus, sebuah pesawat harus dirawat agar kualitas dan performanya tidak menurun. Melihat pentingnya perawatan pesawat, peneliltian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari jenis-jenis perawatan pada pesawat terbang.. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode observasi dan wawancara. Metode observasi digunakan untuk melihat secara langsung cara penggunaan setiap jenis perawatan. Metode wawancara digunakan sebagai metode terakhir dalam penelitian. Metode wawancara digunakan sebagai pelengkap metode yang lain. Metode observasi dan wawancara dilakukan di PT. Merpati Maintenance Facility pada tanggal 14 September 2020 – 14 Januari 2021. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan berbagai macam perawatan pesawat. Salah satu bagian dari perawatan pesawat terbang adalah non-destructive testing (NDT). NDT terbagi menjadi visual testing, liquid penetrant, magnetic particle, ultrasonic testing, eddy current testing, thermography, dan radiography. Penggunaan tiap jenis NDT tergantung pada ukuran komponen, jenis komponen, ukuran kerusakan, jenis kerusakan, tempat kerusakan, dan situasi. Perawatan dilakukan berdasarkan tiga parameter, yaitu: hour, cycle, dan calendar. Adapun dalam penelitian ini ialah menggunakan NDT dengan metode penetrant test===============================================================================================
With continuous use, an aircraft must be maintained so that its quality and performance does not decrease. Seeing the importance of aircraft maintenance, this research aims to study the types of aircraft maintenance. The methods used are observation and interview methods. The observation method is used to see firsthand how to use each type of treatment. The interview method is used as the last method in the study. The interview method is used as a complement to other methods. Observation and interview methods were conducted at PT. Merpati Maintenance Facility on September 14, 2020 – January 14, 2021. The results of this study show various kinds of aircraft maintenance. One part of aircraft maintenance is non-destructive testing (NDT). NDT is divided into visual testing, liquid penetrant, magnetic particle, ultrasonic testing, eddy current testing, thermography, and radiography. The use of each type of NDT depends on the size of the component, the type of component, the size of the damage, the type of damage, the location of the damage, and the situation. Treatment is carried out based on three parameters, namely: hour, cycle, and calendar. As for this study, using NDT with the penetrant test method
