Abstract

Basically, stateowned oil and gas corporation office building had been designed very well using the old building code. But as the technological and scientific are progressing, and there are updates about earthquakes and building loads, National Standardization Agency of Indonesia is publishing newer building code for building construction. Two of the newest building codes those were published are about reinforced concrete building and earthquake loads. Those new building codes are SNI 1726:2019 and SNI 2847:2019. To answer this question “Does the existing building still comply with the newest building code?”, then the existing stateowned oil and gas corporation office building is needed to be reevaluated.
In this final project, the existing stateowned oil and gas corporation office building will be reevaluated to find the existing element capacity and the building structure performance. If the existing structure doesn’t comply with the building code SNI 1726:2019 and SNI 2847:2019, then the existing structure element will be strengthened using Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) Plate from SIKA.
The analysis result is showing that there are some existing beams of the building those doesn’t capable in enduring flexural moment and shear force. From that result, then the beams which needed to be strengthened will be retrofitted using CFRP Plate so they will comply with the SNI 1726:2019 and SNI 2847:2019. After being strengthened, then the existing stateowned oil and gas corporation office building is ready to be used fully as it used to and capable to endure the earthquake load as stated in SNI 1726:2019.
