Abstract

Biodiesel merupakan bahan yang sangat potensial untuk digunakan sebagai pengganti bahan bakar diesel. Hal ini dikarenakan bahan bakunya yang berasal dari minyak nabati, dapat diperbaharui, dan ramah lingkungan. Peraturan Mentri Energi Dan Sumber Daya Mineral Republik Indonesia Nomor 12 Tahun 2015 bahwasanya sejak tahun 2020 Indonesia di bidang tertentu sudah diwajibkan untuk menggunakan biodiesel B30, dan akan dilanjutkan ke B50 pada tahun 2021.
Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan pengujian constant speed terhadap satu buah mesin diesel untuk diukur dan dibandingkan kinerjanya dengan menggunakan bahan bakar biodiesel B20, B30, B40, B50, dan DEXLITE.
Penggunaan bahan bakar biodiesel B50 masih terbilang bagus dengan menghasilkan performa (pada beban 4000 W):Daya = 5856,5588 W, BMEP = 553,062 KPa, Torsi = 18,406 N.m, Dengan kata lain dibandingkan dengan DEXLITE maka Daya, BMEP, Torsi berturut-turut mengalami penurunan sebesar 1,48%, 1,97%, dan 1,98%. Sedangkan BSFC mengalami kenaikan 5,7% .

Biodiesel is a material that has the potential to be used as a substitute for diesel fuel. This is because the raw materials are derived from vegetable oils, are renewable, and environmentally friendly. Regulation of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia Number 12 of 2015 that since 2020 Indonesia in certain fields has been required to use B30 biodiesel, and will continue to B50 in 2021.
In this study, a constant speed test was conducted on one diesel engine to measure and compare its performance using biodiesel fuels B20, B30, B40, B50, and DEXLITE.
The use of biodiesel fuel B50 is still fairly good with producing performance (at a load of 4000 W): Power = 5856.5588 W, BMEP = 553.062 KPa, Torque = 18.406 Nm, In other words, compared to DEXLITE the Power, BMEP, Torque respectively decreased by 1.48%, 1.97%, and 1.98%. Meanwhile, BSFC experienced an increase of 5.7%.
