Abstract
Sistem pentanahan merupakan sistem yang sangat penting untuk menjaga keamanan serta kehandalan sistem tenaga listrik. Namun, terdapat jenis tanah kapur yang nilai tahanan pentanahannya tidak memenuhi persyarataan sesuai standar yang berlaku. Mengacu pada penelitian sebelumnya yang telah menggunakan bentonit sebagai media pentanahan, diketahui bahwa penurunan resistansi oleh bentonit tidak terlalu besar. Selanjutnya, penelitian menggunakan penambahan asam sulfat (H2SO4) pada bentonit cukup membantu dalam penurunan nilai resistansi pentanahan. Selain itu, senyawa kimia garam (NaCl) yang dicampurkan dengan bentonit juga membantu dalam penurunan resistansi pentanahan. Namun metode yang digunakan untuk menambahkan kedua senyawa ke dalam bentonit berbeda-beda. Dengan metode pencampuran yang sama, penelitian ini membandingkan pengaruh antara penambahan senyawa kimia asam sulfat (H2SO4) dan garam (NaCl) dengan berbagai konsentrasi pada bentonit untuk membantu menurunkan nilai resistansi pentanahan pada tanah kapur. Pengambilan data dilakukan selama 14 hari menggunakan earth resistance tester dengan mengukur nilai resistansi bentonit, dan bentonit yang sudah teraktivasi asam sulfat (H2SO4), serta bentonit yang sudah teraktivasi garam (NaCl). Setelah terkumpulnya data nilai tahanan pentanahan, diketahui media pentanahan yang paling efektif untuk membantu menurunkan nilai tahanan pentanahan di tanah kapur, yaitu dengan bentonit teraktivasi NaCl 0,8 M yang mampu menurunkan resistansi pentanahan hingga 73,19%. Semakin bertambahnya konsentrasi senyawa kimia, maka semakin tinggi laju korosi, sehingga resistansi pentanahan akan meningkat.

The grounding system is a very important system to maintain the safety and reliability of the electric power system. But in limestone soils is very difficult to get ideal grounding resistance value. Referring to previous studies that have used bentonite as the grounding medium, it is known that the decrease in resistance by bentonite is not too effective. Furthermore, research using the addition of sulfuric acid (H2SO4) to bentonite is quite helpful in reducing the value of grounding resistance. In addition, the chemical compound salt (NaCl) mixed with bentonite also reduces grounding resistance. However, the method used to add the two compounds into bentonite was different. By using the same addition method, this study compared the effect of adding sulfuric acid (H2SO4) and salt (NaCl) with various concentrations to bentonite to help reduce the grounding resistance value of limestone soil. Data were collected for 14 days, using an earth resistance tester to measuring the resistance value of bentonite, and bentonite that has been added sulfuric acid (H2SO4), and bentonite that has been added salt (NaCl). After collecting grounding resistance value data, it is known that the most effective grounding medium to help reduce the grounding resistance value in limestone soil is with bentonite that has been added NaCl 0,8 M, which is able to reduce grounding resistance up to 73.19%. If use higher concentration of chemical compounds, it will cause higher corrosion rate, so that the grounding resistance value will increase.
