Abstract

Biogas adalah salah satu energi alternatif yang murah dan ramah lingkungan dengan proses pembuatan yang mudah. Kandungan utama biogas adalah metana dan karbon dioksida yang terbentuk melalui proses fermentasi bahan limbah organik. Namun demikian, dalam biogas masih mengandung zat pengotor seperti hidrogen sulfida dan karbondioksida yang harus dihilangkan agar kulitasnya meningkat. Purifikasi biogas dilakukan dengan menggunakan limbah asetilena yang diubah menjadi Ca(OH)2 sebagai absorben gas CO2 dalam raw biogas yang sebelumnya telah melewati tahap adsorpsi oleh soil laterite. Dari proses purifikasi tersebut dihasilkan produk utama berupa biometana sebanyak 5.028.208,949 Nm3/tahun dengan kemurnian 96,12% mol dan prodduk samping berupa Precipitated Calcium Carbonate (PCC) sebanyak 12.624,78 ton ton/tahun dengan kemurnian 99,8% massa. Dari perhitungan analisis ekonomi didapatkan net present value sebesar Rp218.760.772.804, internal rate of return sebesar 20,07% per tahun, pay out time selama 4,98 tahun, dan break even point sebesar 34,04%.

Biogas is a cheap and environmentally friendly alternative energy with easy manufacturing process. The main content of biogas is methane and carbon dioxide which is formed through the fermentation process of organic waste materials. However, biogas still contains impurities such as hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide which must be removed in order to improve its quality. Biogas purification is carried out using acetylene waste which is converted into Ca(OH)2 as CO2 absorbent in raw biogas which has previously passed the adsorption stage by soil laterite. The purification process produces 5,028,208,949 Nm3/year biomethane as the main product with purity of 96.12% mole and 12,624.78 tons/year Precipitated Calcium Carbonate (PCC) as by-product with purity of 99.8% mass. From the economic analysis, the Net Present Value is Rp. 218,760,772,804, Internal Rate of Return is 20.07% per year, Pay Out Time is 4.98 years, and Break Even Point is 34.04%.
